Who won what, Sunday 22nd August - seikus completes a Major double-treble

Morning,

Traffic was not too bad last night, with the £6,000 BH making £6,360 - identical to last week - & the Major £900 higher w-o-w at £13,500. The Mini was a nadge up w-o-w, whilst the late night stuff was all nicely up.

There was a wonderfully close finish to the Women's British Open golf, with Anna Nordqvist, from Sweden, winning by just one stroke to take her third Major. England's Georgia Hall, trying to win her second British Open, had to settle for a three way tie for 2nd, pocketing a juicy £299,543.

It was much of a muchness in Premier League football, with Man U dropping a point at Southampton, Spurs winning again & Arsenal losing again. Not much fun living in North London right now if you are a Gooner. Even less fun if you are Arteta. He's a thoroughly decent man & I hope he hangs on to his job. To be fair, when you are paid £5 or £10 milly per year, you must expect to be harshly judged. Luckily, the Arsenal Board won't lack advice from football fans, all of whom think they know better than the Board. Bit like COVID & the vaccine, there are a whole lot of armchair experts in football.

The highlight for me was Mark Williams winning the British Open snooker, 24 long years after he last won it. Mark has been a pro for 29 of his 46 years, been three time World Champ & won some 25 ranking tournaments & 30 odd in all. What a life, a snooker pro for 29 years. He's a keen poker player, & some of you may have shared poker tables with him when he used to play at Swansea & Cardiff back in the day. Totally humble & self-deprecating, he's easily my favourite snooker player, with his laconic laid back style. As far as I know, he's the only snooker pro in the world who plays his patented "under body" shot (see photo), & one of very few who break off by rolling into the back of the pack.

    7 at 7 Bounty Hunter (£1,176)

LARSON7, a Scot, played a short session starting just after 6pm, had a few small cashes plus he took 7 @ 7 to ensure a profitable night of MTT's.

AlexaAJ was 3rd, with MizzTaken in 6th. The latter played just two MTT's yesterday & was 6th in them both, assuming I'm not mizztaken.

    £6,000 Bounty Hunter (£6,360)

PBKR played just one MTT on Sky Poker last night & won it, collecting some £1,250. I'm assuming he played a wider schedule elsewhere, & knowing him probably did well too. Top top fella, & does not have an enemy or detractor in the game AFAIK.

PRHack93 was 4th, before enjoying a deep run in the Major, 14th.

Not to be confused with PBKR, PKRPar was 7th.

    £12,000 Sunday Major (£13,500)

The Sunday Major fell to seikus, the third time they've won it since April. If we go back a month further he's also won the Mini three times. If three Sunday Majors & three Minis in 5 months is not some sort of record, it ought to be. And he was not done yet, he was 4th in last night's Mini too, so picked up another £750 from the Final Table Jackpot. The seikus fan club were surely in full voice last night.

Pretty tough Major final too, with Solly in 2nd, the respected reprobate sandforddd third & Dog Bloke 4th. The last-named had a busy weekend, and despite playing live poker all over the north west of England he won Saturday's Sheriff in addition to 4th in last night's Major. Busy boy.

The early leader was HAYSIE, but age caught up with the old so & so & he faded to finish a still respectable 18th.

    £1,500 Mini Major (£1,760)

pp2 has won MidEx 4 or 5 times, and added Mini Major last night despite the presence of four good players on the table - roddy28 (2nd), james12212 (3rd), seikus (4th) & KLL-y (6th.

The--Don was 5th. He's having a wicked month having already won a Main & a MidEx. It just shows what's possible if you get really lucky. I opened his table & watched him for a while last night & his style of play very much put me in mind of HAYSIE. Have those two ever been spotted in the same room? Similar playing style, both a shade thin on top, pear-shaped, stubborn, argumentative & somewhat elderly.

Picking up a small cash was WAREZ, who won his seat in the MML which Mr @NOSTRI runs in a manner which is adequate & maybe even bordering on competent.

Talking of MML, the founder & brainchild was of course @waller02. You will be pleased to know he played a multi-thousand runner WCOOP last night & made it through to Day 2 as 77/103, with 26BB. Spectacular effort, & let's hope he gets the breaks tonight & goes a good deal deeper.

Winning his third Major since April, & getting a £750 slice of the FTJ for good measure, last night's outstanding performance was undoubtedly....

Annie Lennox & Dave Stewart. This is a bit pappy, but strangely addictive.
