Prince Andrew is served with legal papers at his home for the bombshell sexual assault lawsuit from Jeffrey Epstein accuser who says she was forced to have sex with him as a teenPrince Andrew has been served at his home in Windsor with the paperwork for the bombshell lawsuit from his accuser who sued him in a US court. According to a document filed today, an affidavit of service was served at the Duke of York's home in Windsor on August 27. An agent working on behalf of Virginia Roberts, now known as Virginia Giuffre, who claims she was forced to have sex with Andrew when she was 17, handed them over to police officers at the property. The agent had tried the day before but was rebuffed and told that staff had been ‘primed’ not to accept any documents, the court papers state. When the agent returned the next day, the police officers at the gate of Royal Lodge, Andrew’s official residence, changed their mind and allowed him to leave the paperwork. Service of the papers starts the clock ticking for Andrew to respond or face a default judgement. Normally defendants have 21 days to respond but a judge may extend that given that the Duke is not in the US. The development comes ahead of the first hearing in the case which is set for Monday next week when Andrew’s lawyers could identify themselves for the first time. Ms Giuffre, an alleged victim of convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, filed a lawsuit against Andrew in a federal court in Manhattan, New York, on August 9. She claims the prince sexually assaulted her at Epstein's mansion when she was 17 - below the age of consent in the US.

But this legal action is rampant bollo.
The alleged acts happened in about 2000. When she was 17, and being regularly pimped out by Epstein. To what appears to be a large number of people. Without any complaint from her until many years later. At a time when the age for consent in New York was 18-it was reduced to 17 some time ago. The age of consent varies between 16 and 18 in the US, varying state by state. The action is long on Epstein/Maxwell, but remarkably short on detail concerning the actual Defendant.
She is now a 38-year-old. Who lives in Australia. Who has already settled various of her claims v Epstein. But has saved the most newsworthy one. And is playing it for everything she can.
She is so "scared" of the rich and powerful she is not only suing, but releasing all the gory details to the press. Using a US Lawyer who does not even appear to realise that Andrew has a surname-Windsor.
Prince Andrew has finally been served legal papers over a civil case for rape and sexual assault. They were accepted by the security chief at his Windsor home after weeks of 'avoiding' officials, court documents dramatically revealed. It appeared however that Andrew's lawyers claim the papers were not properly served and plan to boycott Monday's court hearing into the accusations lodged by Jeffrey Epstein victim Virginia Roberts. The prince's team also hopes to get the case thrown out on a technicality. In a legal filing, his solicitor Gary Bloxsome said the document Miss Roberts signed in 2009 may make her action invalid. It is the first indication of how the prince and his lawyers intend to fight the case after weeks of silence.

I think that many people may relish the thought of him being forced to give evidence under oath.
Although I would file this thought in the impossible draw, rather than the unlikely one.

“Mr Brettler, I think we’re making this a lot more complicated than it really is,” Judge Kaplan said.
The comment, and others the judge made in the same tone, could be a sign that Prince Andrew’s supposed tactics of delay are not likely to work much longer.
“Let’s cut out all the technicalities and get to the substance,” Judge Kaplan later added.
The substance is that in a lawsuit, Ms Giuffre has accused Prince Andrew of abusing her when she was 17 at homes owned by convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and his girlfriend, Ghislaine Maxwell.

The High Court in London has accepted a request by Virginia Roberts' legal team to formally contact Andrew (pictured at Balmoral yesterday, along with former wife Fergie) about the civil proceedings launched in America, after first rejecting it citing a technicality. Last week, Ms Roberts' legal team said it had tried to serve papers to the Queen's son by leaving the documents with a police officer at his home in southern England, in addition to sending them by Royal Mail. However, despite Andrew being represented in court, his team have argued he has not yet been properly served so the case cannot progress. In response, Ms Roberts' legal team used the Hague Service Convention, a treaty governing requests between nations for evidence in civil cases, to ask the High Court to formally notify Andrew about her action. After earlier highlighting an issue with the application, the High Court today said it has now been accepted. This means the court will serve Andrew the papers itself if Ms Roberts' lawyers are unable to themselves. Inset: The Duke and Ms Roberts.

A US judge said Virginia Giuffre's (right) plan to deliver them to his US lawyer was 'reasonably calculated to bring the papers served to the defendant's attention'. District Judge Lewis Kaplan (inset) in Manhattan it did not matter whether the Duke of York (left, this week at Balmoral) 'authorised' the lawyer to accept them. The lawyer, Andrew Brettler, had no immediate comment and Ms Giuffre's lawyers did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Earlier the Prince had challenged a High Court ruling that he can be served with papers in his US sex case. In what was being seen as another delaying tactic by the duke, his legal team said it would look to overturn the decision on a legal technicality. It comes as the Prince's mood has reportedly changed over the past few days and he has become 'worried' and is 'not his usual blasé self'. He is said to be readying himself for a brutal legal battle that he fears could cost him millions of pounds.
