Who won what, Monday 13th September - craigcu12 binks the Main

Tikay10Tikay10 Member, Administrator, Moderator Posts: 173,965

Morning.

Numbers were decidedly flat last night, with the Main coming in at a 6 week low. Not by much, the 6 week running average is a very tight band, just a few hundo. I suppose the return of televised Premier League football did not help.

In sport, the Emma Raducanu media hype grows & grows. The pressure on her to perform in the future is going to be immense, & we all know how the British media love to build people up & then smash them down. I genuinely fear for her, the haters are warming up on the sidelines already. For now though, it's all gravy, & I loved this photo of her seeing herself on a billboard in Times Square. What wholesome 18 year old would not enjoy that?

In football, Everton eventually disposed of Burnley 3-1 thanks to a 7 minute blitz in the second half, & featuring an Andros Townsend screamer.

In horse racing some sad but inevitable news - the great Altior has retired, & will spend the rest of his days enjoying retirement with Mick Fitzgerald. Won 19 races on the bounce & was a dual Champion Chase winner. What memories.

    7 at 7 Bounty Hunter (£945)

    tiimot1987 had a glorious afternoon. Won a £300 BH that ran at 13.30, won another £300 BH at 15.30, then completed the hat-trick by taking down the 7 @ 7. Sometimes things just fall into place, in this case, with the obvious exception of tiimot, showy08 & slipster14, it looked a very weak renewal of the 7 @ 7. No disrespect to the others, obv.

    £1,000 Bounty Hunter (£1,000)

    By contrast, this looked a hot £1,000 BH, with KLL-y grabbing the win ahead of the likes of kalin, Jessieak, heddoh & the in-form bigfatfish.

    How about this then - craigcu12 won the Main. If hard work & sheer enthusiasm for the game counts for anything, he'll win plenty more too. Well done Craig. He was the shortie three-handed too, so a fine effort, & I'm sure his respect for his opponents certainly helped.

    It was almost a quick double for runner-up KLL-y, as he'd already won the £1,000 BH. Later in the evening he was 4th in Sheriff too.

    Seeing Melin009 in third reminded me of her namesake, Sinem Melin, who made quite a name for herself a while back, & her light shone very brightly indeed for a few years. She was unbelievably photogenic, with a wonderfully expressive face, & really was quite a character one way & another.

    £1,500 Mini Marksman (£1,500)

    Was so pleased to see that tc12398 won the Mini. A recent & most enthusiastic recruit to the Forum, he's joined several of the Community Comps already. We really do need fresh blood, more posts, or both if we are to keep the Forum going. Only 158 MTT's on his CV but is going along nicely, & after winning the Mini, he later ran 3rd in a £500 BH. Well done TC, & I hope to see many more similar results from you.

    Runner-up was Doubleme, who won a £750 BH 24 hours earlier.

    NoEa5yCa5h, who returned last month from a 2 month sabbatical, was third.

    £1,000 Mega Stack B/Hunter (£1,080)

    Jscorgie in in unstoppable form at present, & this was his third win in 24 hours - the £6,000 BH & Sheriff on Sunday, & Mega last night.

    splashies - twice a winner of this in August - was runner-up, with Collabo, perhaps the most chatty player on the site, in third.

    Sunday's Turbo winner 8288 was fifth, a real rose between two thorns in Arrogant & bigfatfish.

    £1,500 Reload Rebuy B/Hunter (£1,731)

    If you had to bet on Crushy winning anything last night, I doubt many would have gone for Reload, but he seems equally effective at all stakes. And for proof of that, last night was fairly typical for him - 1st in £3 Reload, 5th in the £5 Mini, 5th in the £50 Sheriff, and 2nd in the £20 Quickdraw.

    £1,500 Turbo Bounty Hunter (£1,500)

    humberfish took Turbo, & has plenty of decent backform, including an Avenger Main & a UKOPS Rebuy, both in late 2019.

    Tough FT, with AKAscotty 2nd, THETANK 3rd, Jscorgie 4th & lyonsbob 6th.

    Loved the alias in 5th - SharkScoop. Very good.

    £1,000 Quickdraw (£1,400)

    Quickdraw saw - arguably - the toughest FT of the evening, with Jessieak taking the honours ahead of Crushy, Arrogant, RCord & grinddd.

    £1,000 Midnight Express B/Hunter (£1,040)

    If I was pleased to see tc12398 take the Mini, I was no less happy to note midnightma take MidEx. Poker is inhabited by a rich mixture of characters, good bad & in-between, but few seem as genuine & kind-hearted as midnightma.

    2nd was bearlyther, with Mr Bates - he's OK I suppose, too - in 3rd.

    @midnightma 156000 1 £192.40 + £101.85 Head Prizes 5

    In other news...

    The WSOP is just around the corner - assuming it goes ahead - & subscribers to PokerGo are in for a real treat, as PokerGo will be streaming a ton of events;

    PS - And no, I'm not an affiliate for Poker Go, but it does seem very relevant to me that we can watch so many of the various WSOP events.

    Here's the PokerGo WSOP Streaming schedule;

    The last time I signed up to it for the WSOP I just got the message that it was not able to view in this country. Perhaps it has changed now?

    Well if that's the case, apologies.

    Anyone had a similar experience with PokerGo?

    Loving the new payout template for this comp.

    I've been watching old WSOP's recently on poker go and working completely fine for me on mobile and pc - the firestick app seems abit funny for freezeing losing your place etc but I think thats more a poorly put together app rather than location because the videos do generally play.

    Interesting topic tho that as great as Poker Go is, I feel it puts a strong paywall infront of poker content. Back when I got into poker there was UKIPT's EPT's etc on C4 - we had 861 (the daddy of them all) and a bunch of other telelvised poker events. This was brilliant for rec players and encouraging players to get into the game.

    But is that same rec whod tune in to 861 on a Sunday to watch Tiford (tikay and orford) talking about someone playing the primo going to pay £15 a month to watch poker on poker go. Sites themselves seem to be putting more focus on twitch, which again I just dont think is that appealing to a rec player. Id bet to guess most people who watched 861 for example were recs, id bet most people watching twitch are very serious amatuers who are most likely winning players at the micros and want to experience the ride of winning a WCOOP type event.

    Went off on a tangent here - but felt relevant when discussing poker go
