A reminder that to play any WSOP events this year, players...
1) Must show proof they are double-vaxxed. If they are not, they cannot play.
2) Masks must be worn throughout the Venue (The Rio) at all times but NOT at the tables.
Brits will be scarce until later in the Series, as it's very very difficult to travel from the UK to USA at present, except via places such as Mexico or Canada. Some are there though.
Usually, Pavilion Room - or Ballroom as it's known over there - is used for Satellites, the Daily Deepstacks, & 24/7 Cash games. It's also used as an overspill room for the bigger WSOP Events, but the Tables break to the Brasilia rooms further up the corridor.
This might just look like an empty warehouse, but just looking at it gives me a tingle down below. This is the first WSOP I've not attended since about 2003, when it was held at Binions, Downtown.
When this room is full - which it soon will be - it absolutely buzzes with poker excitement. It's very cold though, & you need to wear a hoodie or a cardy. Or both. It gets VERY cold in there.
Day 1 play gets underway shortly, & we'll report on that on a new thread tomorrow. Bear in mind Vegas is currently 8 hours BEHIND the UK, & play does not finish until the early hours local time, so late morning here.

Amazing. I remember the first time I stepped into that room full of poker players.
Where else can you sit down and find yourself playing with the current and/or previous world champions of any sport?

The venue.
The Rio is on West Flamingo, which is "off-strip", separated from the Strip & Caesars Palace by the !-15 Interstate.
Bang next door to The Rio is Gold Coast, & on the other side of West Flamingo is The Palms.

OK, that'll have to do for today.
