Who won what, Sunday 3rd October - Dog Bloke completes an extraordinary hat-trick

Tikay10Tikay10 Member, Administrator, Moderator Posts: 158,861

Morning.

There are two "biggies" on a Sunday, the £6k BH & the Major. The £6kBH came in right in the middle of it's recent range, but the Major was a disappointment, just £12,500, the lowest for a few months. Those apart, most of the Featured MTT's performed reasonably well. a lot of players, of course, are currently switching their attention to DYM's for the Streak Week Promo, so I suppose that's part of the equation.

In sport, there were two big headliners yesterday, the Arc in Paris & Liverpool v Man City.

Big, big shock in the Arc as Torquator Tasso, a German trained & bred horse won at around 72/1, & in doing so beat a very strong field indeed even by Arc standards. Sadly, the winner's sire is now in Horse Heaven, but presumably that means the winner will be an absolute goldmine when retired to stud.

In the Liverpool game, we were privileged to see a truly great goal by Mo Salah. Opinions vary - as they should - but I'm struggling to remember a better goal in the Premier League era, as Mo left about 6 defenders trailing in his wake. By nature, football fans are parochial, but anyone who does not enjoy watching Liverpool with their foot to the floor is seriously myopic. I can take or leave football but I try never to miss a Liverpool game. Anyway, have a look at the video below of the Salah goal. It's a belter.

I suppose it is somehow fitting that the 7pm £700 7 @ 7 was won by a player with a 7777 suffix, & in fact it's the 2nd time they have won it this year.

This was a really enjoyable FT to watch. The popular veteran HAYSIE was not in good shape when I first tuned in, sitting 5th, but he utilised his extensive knowledge of blockers, GTO & range charts to skilfully ease past some less experienced rivals.

A fine 2nd for spearsy136, and an excellent result for the over-performing NOSTRI in 3rd. And as well as a good result they got the benefit of a free lesson from HAYSIE.

whitters95 - arguably the best player on the table - was 4th.

    Last Thursday's Hitman winner 23blackeye was 6th.

    £12,000 Sunday Major (£12,500)

When a good player hits form there's no stopping them, & Dog Bloke has surely never had a better week on Sky Poker with a hat trick of big wins - Tuesday's Summit, Wednesday's Predator Main & now last night's Major. And it's only 2 weeks since he was 2nd in the Major to seikus. Top, top player and a genuinely lovely bloke. Well done Chris.

The junior podium steps were occupied by Rocket919 & BRUTAS. Rocket has now made the Major Final 2 weeks running - 5th last week, 2nd last night.

Same applies to the excellent skyflyer who has also made back-to-back Major finals - 2nd last week, 4th last night.

Not to be outdone, craigcu12 is also doing well, making his 2nd Major Final in the last 3 attempts, finishing 5th & 6th respectively. And if we go back to August, Craig finished 1st & 2nd in the Major in consecutive weeks. By chance, when he won it on 15th August, the runner-up was Rocket919, who was 2nd again last night.

    £1,500 Mini Major (£1,710)

xceptor22 has an unusual profile in that they tend to just turn up on a Sunday to play the Mini Major, & very rarely anything else. Single-tabled it too.

In 4trh was skyflyer, & as they were 4th in the Major as well, that means a £200 bonus from the Sky Poker FTJ. In fact this was the 2nd time inside a month that skyflyer has won some FTJ money, though last time it was £1,500. Very good player indeed.

We were not far off more FTJ money either, as BRUTAS & craigcu12, who both finalled the Major, were not far off here - 14th & 23rd.

    £1,000 Mega Stack B/Hunter (£1,020)

pl0b_ has had a few decent results of late, the best of which was taking down last night's Mega.

An odd stat for skyflyer, who finished 4th for the thirds consecutive MTT - Major, Mini Major & Mega. Most unusual.

waller02 should be proud of his Sharky graph which gets ever steeper, 9th in last night's £6k BH & 6th here.

    £1,500 Sheriff Bounty Hunter (£1,650)

grinddd is on quite a run too, in the last two weeks has won Sheriff twice, Summit & £6k BH.

Jscorgie, who has already won BWBH & Mini in October, was 3rd, with biggirl 5th & 1_PeppaPig 6th.

And how about this - the run of consecutive 4th place finishes by skyflyer is now 4.

    4th in Major

    4th in Mini

    4th in Mega

    4th in Sheriff

I really don't know if that's lucky or unlucky but It's the sort of thing statisticians love to get their teeth into. Tell you what though, I doubt its ever been done before in Featured MTT's. Congrats to skyflyer. I think...

    £1,500 Turbo Bounty Hunter (£1,770)

whitters came up just short in the £6k BH but got his win here, with the cleverly named Sharkscoop - clearly a PLO8 player - 2nd.

    Typically tough Turbo table, too.

PokerNews came up with a hilarious headline this morning to announce the winner of the Edinburgh GUKPT, who it seems wished to remain anonymous.

    Surely the best headline ever....

Cream never lasted long before their inevitable implosion, but they were great whilst they lasted.

Ginger Baker & Jack Bruce are no longer with us, but Clapton survives, perhaps because he is God.

Was going to post saying that maybe Clapton should be disqualified from God status due to his controversial past (and present), but then realised most Gods seem to have some pretty horrible ideas.

I (almost) wish I had not read that now.

Proper scathing, & on the face of it, rightly.
