I've had a quick look at the terms, and it only states that seats won in satellites cannot be exchanged to cash by unregistering from the target event. I am wondering, perhaps unlikely, would Sky allow players to exchange/transfer seats won in satellites to a different event of the same buyin?

Well firstly I assume you are referring to UKOPS. In the SPT, registration to the £220 target event is not open, so players can't do that anyway.
In UKOPS, it states;
5. If a player wins a seat to any UKOPS event via satellites, they will automatically be registered into the event. Should a player choose to un-register, they will not be awarded the cash equivalent into their account.
I'll need to speak to James, but for now, please assume that you will have to play the event you qualify for. It could get awfully messy otherwise, with folks changing their minds daily. If James gives me the nod I don't mind doing the leg work, but let me check with him first, as I suspect The Man From Sky Poker He Say No.
I can totally understand the reasoning, but my (and possibly a lot of others) options for playing satellites may be limited otherwise, if most of satellites were on a different day to the target events.
Thanks for checking. Much appreciated.
PS, took me a moment to figure your Del Monte reference

I imagine there will be satellites "on the day" nearer the time.
Glad you sussed the Del Monte reference, though it suggests you are not a young man. It will whoosh the kids.
The UKOPS satellites are now populating the Lobby, starting from £1.30 upwards.
