Who won what, Monday October 18th - newdaddy takes the Main

Tikay10Tikay10 Member, Administrator, Moderator Posts: 171,805

Afternoon. I seem to say this a lot of late, but just a quick run through today. I could do with brushing up on my time-management skills, but I don't have time right now.

A quick thank you to the gentleman who sent me a lovely PM yesterday about my work here & this & that. Really was appreciated.

Traffic last night? Somewhere between meh & OK. Not bad considering there was decent football on TV. Might struggle tonight, with some great CL stuff on, including Liverpool.

Some very interesting news today linked to the takeover of Newcastle United. The more I think about this, the more I feel this is going to get super messy.

    7 at 7 Bounty Hunter (£980)

A decent result for the slightly popular Dour Scot @PKRPar adding to his recent good run, which includes 2 MidEx wins, 1st & 3rd in Mains & some bits & bobs.

splashies keeps making final tables & was 3rd, with maccol 5th.

An extraordinary and much improved performance in 7th by @Duesenberg who is reasonably competent at MTT buy-ins up to £1, but is generally deemed to be out of his depth at these levels. And this is a man who thinks 1987 was the best year for music. He's having a laugh. Try any year in the mid-sixties sunshine.

razial was something of a surprise winner here, not because he's not good enough, more so as it was only his 2nd MTT here in the last 3 years. It's really interesting how folks come & go.

Crushy & skyflyer were in the mix - certainly no surprise there, & splashies made his 2nd Featured FT of the night. He flies a bit under the radar but must make a good few bob on the quiet.

newdaddy, who has a stratospheric Sharky rating, took the Main. He has a remarkable Sunday Major record in 2021 - 2nd twice & 3rd twice. When I see his alias I conjure up a mental image of a proud father who has just had his first child. As it happens, I chatted with him this morning, & don't quote me on this as I might have got slightly confused, but I seem to recall he told me he actually has 17 children, some still in nappies, some old enough to have beards. Who'd have guessed?

In 2nd was the cerebral bbMike, anyone like to guess what the BB stands for?

6th in the Mini Hitman last Thursday, our friend Bloodclots, who cleverly foiled the Sky Poker profanity filter, was 3rd.

In 6th was LmfaoAllin, who I saw described a day or so ago as "much-improved", which I suppose is akin to saying that Joe Hart is a much improved goalkeeper.

What an odd day discotrain had yesterday. Played 5 MTT's, the first 4 all Freerolls, all of which he bricked, after which he then won the 302 runner Mini. No accounting for poker results, is there?

    £1,000 Mega Stack B/Hunter (£1,140)

Mega went to Hod4k997, last spotted winning Gold Rush Main in the Summer, with MAGPIETYKE, who may have his own views on the Newcastle United takeover. Hopefully my views on the matter don't offend him.

After being so rude about LmfaoAllin earlier, he now runs 3rd in Mega. I'm happy to withdraw my cutting remarks.

The same might apply to to 4th placed Duesenberg, but he can forget an apology, I'll be a very old man before I apologise. Honestly, 1987 best year for music? Pretty sure he's trolling us.

    £1,500 Sheriff Bounty Hunter (£1,950)

What a top three in Sheriff. The other three players must have had a torrid time, with all due respect to them.

The player in 6th has an interesting alias, which some of my acquaintances may find amusing.

    £1,000 Quickdraw (£1,300)

Blaiseee is another who flies under the radar, but he's highly rated by Sharky & this was his 4th Quickdraw win of 2021, he has a £6k BH win on his CV too.

The currently all-conquering tonyp142 could not conquer on this occasion, just 4th. He's a flash in the pan, clearly.

Another top 2 who really know the score in KLL-y & f3nix35.

BlairReid, currently 2nd in the Elim Freeroll Leaderboard and in a rich vein of form was 5th, with Gambelo, 6th in Turbo, same position here.

    SPT Manchester Semi (19 runners)

And here are the first players to book SPT Manchester seats.

Looking forward to seeing all 3 in Manchester next month, and I'm sure chrisdonkb, who picked up almost enough loose change to buy-in, will be there too.

I don't really do sympathy in poker, but I was a little sad to see mumsie get so close only to depart empty-handed. He has been so helpful to me in various ways on the Forum, & he's a proper good bloke. Long way to Manchester though, he lives in one of those South Coast Towns where everyone has a subscription to a funeral plan.

    @rspca12 30697.50 1 SPT Manchester Seat

    @IH8UButler 10760.50 3 SPT Manchester Seat

Too busy today for POTD or "In Other News", but I have a feeling you will all somehow cope.

Music? I'm still seething at @Duesenberg selecting 1987 as a vintage music year. Here's some examples. The case rests.

:D you indeed were mistaken I'm afraid, Sir. I actually only have 15 children!

    Ha.

And yeah, it was great to chat this morning. One of life's great luxuries is getting to know "online strangers" a little better.

Congrats on your long-awaited much improved video selection skills. I'd like to share my ultimate 1987 Spotify playlist with you, but I fear it would just lead to anger and frustration on your part as you'd struggle to figure out how to play it on your gramophone.

I don't even know what Spotify is or where I'd go to buy one.

Thank you for the kind words.

My sister was telling me the other day, apparently, if you pass away in hospital, you can have it arranged for the hospital to dispose of your body , I said I would look into it, make enquiries, if you excuse the tautology.

That would work nicely, saves a good few bob on Funeral costs, those lovely black shiny hearses must cost a fortune. For me, when I'm gone I'm gone, so they can chuck me in a skip or take me round to the local refuse disposal place.
