Who won what, Saturday 23rd October, busiest night for 6 months, & "the boys" raise £800 for charity

Tikay10Tikay10 Member, Administrator, Moderator Posts: 160,083

Morning.

Well now, Friday was very busy, but last night was even busier. The Sharpy Main hit it's highest prize pool for 6 months, whilst the Mini was at a 4 month high. Looks like things are warming up nicely for UKOPS, which is less than a week hence now.

In sport, England got off to a winning start in the T20 World cup against what looked an awful performance by the Windies, who could muster only 55 runs & were gone 6 overs before their allotted 20. England somehow lost 4 wickets in chasing that down but they did it in just 8 overs.

The football comedy highlight must surely be Ranieri's Watford being 2-1 down away to Everton, & somehow winning 5-2. There will be no better, or more surprising comeback all season. I wrote that Ranieri would bring fun back to football when he returned 2 weeks ago, & he's delivered already. In his first match in charge, Watford were humiliated 5-0 by Liverpool. Asked about that 5-0 thumping after yesterday's win, Ranieri, with a twinkle in his eye, said "no no, I not remember that". God Bless him. Dilly ding dilly dong. In the toxic world of football, how can anyone not love this man?

BooBoo is rampant, he won Wednesday's Predator Main, was AWOL on Thursday, bricked Friday, then took both the £1k BH & Turbo last night. That's form.

In 6th was MICKYRIG, who made a rare appearance in these threads 24 hours earlier after winning 7 & 7.

    £6,000 Sharpshooter (£8,280)

Quite a victory here for DL1988, only previous mention was when 5th in Sharpy Main 30 months ago. A single tabler, modestly rated by Sharky, playing only his 8th MTT in a month, he had to endure a long HU battle with Palace Bloke before emerging triumphant. Fair to say Palace is as tough & awkward an individual as you could ever wish - or not wish? - to meet, both on & off the table, so this was a terrific win by DL1998.

Palace, of course, you know all about, a huge winner here, & it's not widely known that's he is a dead ringer for MattBates, they are like two peas in a plump pod.

    £2,000 Mini Sharpshooter (£2,535)

The Mini went to another alias I am not familiar with, Duarte1999. I suppose, to a degree, that's a function of how much busier the site has been this last 48 hours.

    £1,000 Mega Stack B/Hunter (£1,250)

SAXONTOM seems to do things in two's - in recent months he's twice won Mega, twice won Quickdraw, & twice been 2nd in Main Events.

Runner-up was KOBAC, a recent Marksman Main champ, with Wednesday's Reload winner taxi1970 in 3rd.

    In 6th was Alphabet Bloke, who ran 6th in Tuesday's 7 @ 7.

    £1,500 Sheriff Bounty Hunter (£2,200)

CutePoison, with just 21 games to their credit in the 2 months with Sky Poker, took Sheriff. An interesting profile here, in their first & 2nd night on Sky Poker in late August they ran 2nd in Sheriff both times, & now wins it. So that's 2nd, 2nd & 1st in Sheriff from just 9 attempts.

In 3rd was UnEuropean, who looks an interesting one to follow, & who already has a BWBH win to his name in his short time on Sky Poker.

It's all a little uphill MAXALLY lately, he finished 7th but got paid nothing for it. On the bright side he won his seat in a £3 All-In Sat so he was almost freerolling.

Today's music is dedicated to @The--Don & @Duesenberg for reasons I'd prefer not to explain, but bless them both for their charitable work last night.

Aerosmith, "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing".

This track was the theme music for a Movie called Armageddon, in which - quite by chance I believe - Steven Tyler's stunningly beautiful daughter Liv appeared.

If you are not misty-eyed - at the very least - by the end of that, you did not listen to it properly.

I was at that event (it was a priority freeroll)

I didn’t get to meet edrich there but agree that he’s a lovely chap at the tables and a very good dym player

The mtt was great value as half the people didn’t turn up. I Maxallyed it into the money for £600. Haysie was on my table and didn’t want to do it the same way abs bubbled with a big bluff. He was very quiet and amiable at the table which is a little different to how he is on the forum. Met Jonnyrkd there and he’s a nice bloke too

Carl Froch played and i think it was Begs who got the trophy “I knocked Froch out”

Devilfish was there with a very young blond lady

Free bar and Sky players probably isn’t a great mix

I recall Sikas took advantage of the free booze

    @Jac35

Yes, I recall it was some sort of Prio Freeroll. Was a great night, only half the invitees showed up, & there was a free bar & food galore. There was only about 20 of us & the bar bill was a 4 figure number.

I don't recall HAYSIE being there, which is odd.

Carl Froch played it, & we organised a trophy for whoever busted him, engraved with "I KNOCKED OUT CARL FROCH". In fact edrich may have been the one who did the deed.

As you know full well know , clinging on like a dangle Berry is the name of the game when you’re the shortie and not very good at this game like me…..getting AA for the final hand was a help, mind!

Unlucky @irishrose . I know you’ll win at least one more seat, if not the full 4!
