I didnt lose a chip. I assumed that as it was down for everyone, then all the small blinds would fold.

Actually, I just had a look at my hand history, and there were no hands played between 9.41, and 9.53. My last hand was played at 9.41 and 13 seconds, and the next at 9.53 and 1 second. Only three further hands before the break. It was impossible for even me to lose chips when no hands were being played.
The tournaments didn't play out when it crashed. If you got back on as soon as the site was back up the hand which was being played before the crash was still in progress. Blind levels were the same.

They will check. If what you say is true, they will probably refund your buy in.
It was only the eliminator freeroll, but there were around 16 players left and could have got a bit extra cash and knockouts. Oh well, can't be helped I suppose. At least someone got a free knockout haha.
