Morning.
UKOPS got off to a very satisfactory start, prize pools amounting to £44,750, some 36% north of the aggregate guarantees of £33,000. That'll do nicely. The atmo on the tables seemed generally quite cheerful, excepting of course the small minority of anti-social serial moaners who seem to detest all things poker & Sky Poker..... but still play, & still play here here. That's a mystery way beyond my understanding.
In sport, US Open champion Emma Raducanu was beaten in straight sets in the quarter finals of the Transylvania Open. After Emma's staggering victory in the US Open, she was widely expected to win everything, so she's having a bit of a reality check now. It will be really interesting to see how she copes with a bit of adversity, & how the Media treat her once the honeymoon is inevitably over.
A quick reminder that at 3pm (UK) today, England take on Australia in the T20 World Cup in Dubai. I am hopeful but fear the worst. Still, it's not proper cricket, so I can console myself with that if things go badly.

UKOPS 01 £4,000 Bounty Hunter (£4,800)
A fitting start to UKOPS as Crushy wins the opener. This guy has been with Sky Poker 9 years & his graph is an almost perfectly ascending straight line. We must not rely on Sharky as anything other than a guide to profitability, but they have him at £276,192. Whatever way we look at him, he's good. He also won a $10k G'tee affair on Parry last night. Look at it whatever way you wish, but he's good. Rarely moans & groans either, he understands that poker dishes out cruel beats but just gets on with it like a fully-formed adult. I don't "know" him but I admire him immensely.
2nd was Sharki0 - they had quite a HU tussle - with Danny starting his UKOPS campaign with a fine 5th place.

UKOPS 02 £15,000 Bounty Hunter (£19,600)
This was the day 1 "Main", & once again, hughjarse9 showed he is the man for big occasions. From just 335 games on Sky Poker, he's around £42,000 ahead if we believe Sharky. Has anyone here won more from so few games? Began the year by winning SPT Online for just shy of £20,000, & followed up by winning the Easter UKOPS Main for £10,500, & collected another ~£3,900 last night. Those 3 added together amount to more than most of us earn in a year from our day jobs. Seems a decent sort too. I fancy he has not finished with this UKOPS yet.
Quite a surprise to see leez run 2nd, though he seems to play a bunch of £100 Heads Up Hypers so is clearly not playing scared.
In 3rd was newdaddy, who has a stratospheric Sharky rating, & devil_tear, who was 8th in UKOPS01, was 5th, so he's already racking up Leaderboard points.

UKOPS 03 £5,000 Mini Bounty Hunter (£7,850)
The Day 1 UKOPS Mini went to Manc99, & this was - by a country mile - his biggest ever win here in a 2,700 game sample. If I understood it correctly, the final hand Heads Up was a doozer, as he held A-8 on the 8-8-X flop with his HU opponent holding.... K-8. Ouch. Anyway, a terrific result for Manc99.
Sadly, as he's a top bloke & a dear friend of mine, it was Grumpy Jac holding the K-8, but he was cool with it. For a guy who made his name here in DYM's he is doing pretty well in MTT's, & added another £625 last night. Those with long memories will recollect he won one of the first ever SPT's, which was held in a Children's Hospital in Birmingham. True story.
The Final was full of familiar faces & names, with Darty 3rd, multi Sunday Major winner jordz 4th, and a pair of Big Slicks in 5th & 6th, AK57 & AKAscotty.

Goodness me, look at this little lot from Team Big Boy, and this was almost certainly the toughest FT of the night.
Jscorgie emerged top of the pile, ahead of Super_Oli, with M10 Dembele in 3rd, Swog 4th, UnEuropean 5th & devil_tear 6th. Of those 6, it would be no surprise if 5 of them were to be contenders for the UKOPS Leaderboard. 5? I don't want to be mean today, so I'll leave that to your imagination.

Solack, in his 14th year with Sky Poker - it somehow seems longer - took the Turbo. He is proper old-school & does his own thing, never mind solvers, GTO, blockers & charts, a sort of less annoying version of HAYSIE.
craigcu12 played all 6 UKOPS events, & enjoyed his best run in this one, finishing 3rd.

TOPSNATCH, who had been AWOL for almost 3 weeks prior to last night, took the closer. Don't know a great deal about this player, except that they took down a Mega last month. I'm not quite sure what the alias means, but I'm sure it's completely innocent. When we did the TV Show we had to be very careful what we said with regard to aliases, so we had to refer to the Urban Dictionary with great regularity. Sometimes I wish I'd never seen it.
Gambelo was 3rd, & it was pleasing to see waller, who played 5 of the 6 UKOPS events last night, get some reward in 4th.
