Who won what, UKOPS Day 3, Sunday 31st October. Addo07 & clarke996 make the headlines

Morning,

Wonderful night last night, with the ambitious aggregate guarantees of £53,000 being shattered by prize pools of £74,420, some 40% above target. I have no idea if traffic spilled across to the cash tables, but it's usually the case, if so, a terrific night all round. The clocks going back (= nights get darker earlier) may have helped, though it's hard to prove.

The T20 World Cup continued yesterday, and hot-shots India were thoroughly demolished by New Zealand, & may now end up going home early. I don't know enough about cricket to understand why India have had such a dreadful time recently, but it's a sad sight.

Talking of sad sights, the hugely likeable Nuno looks like his time may be up at Spurs, which is really rather a shame, he's a man of great honesty & dignity. On the bright side, perhaps Spurs don't deserve to have such a good man at the helm, so one way or another it will all pan out nicely. EDIT - & before the ink is even dry, it's confirmed that Spurs have sacked him. Presumably he'll get his Contract paid up though, so he can sit at home for a while & count the money he got paid for failing. Football is weird.

    UKOPS 13 £3,000 Freezeout (£3,800)

    I was very pleased to see Natnug take the opener. He's built up a terrific CV, having won both Reload & Turbo twice, MidEx, Quickdraw, £6k BH, Mini & a zillion FT's, well now he can add a UKOPS win to that impressive resume.

    There are no easy UKOPS events, & as you'd expect, plenty of quality players on the FT including ozzie, gac & the Hedster.

    Plenty of familiar names cashed, way too many to mention, but I'll make an exception for Sam, aka @IVIystical who has a quite exceptional game for one so inexperienced & is one of the most helpful & likeable guys on the site.

    UKOPS 14 £15,000 High Roller B/Hunter (£24,400)

    If you were asked to predict the winner of last night's High Roller not many would have plumped for clarke996. Put the microscope on his CV though & the clues are there, having won Sheriff twice, plus a Turbo, all quite recently. Sharky suggests only played 230 games, so that's an excellent return. A £5,600 bink is pretty handy too.

    Exactly the quality of player you'd expect in a UKOPS High Roller, with one time Sky Poker hotshot style2737 2nd, followed by grinddd, Jscorgie, cabbaz & Sharki0. Not easy to spot the table mark amongst that crew.

    UKOPS 15 £20,000 Bounty Hunter (£26,000)

    The evening's Main Event went to addo07, who has a very peculiar Sharky profile. From 2008 to 2020, some 12 years, he never won or lost a bean over a ~2,000 game sample, but since then and over just 300 games he has gone on the tear & made around £30,000. Last night was not even his biggest win, that was over £8,000 in a Boomlet Sunday Major. He's had eight 4 figure cashes, of which 5 were over £3,000. Seems like he's the real deal.

    And look who was 3rd - hughjarse9. He was in trouble with 4 tables left, but then staged a tremendous finish, even led the way at one stage before eventually finishing 3rd. So far this UKOPS he has only played 3 events, all "Mains", finishing 1st, 1st & 3rd. He won the Easter UKOPS Main too, as well as the enormous January SPT Online which was worth £20,000 alone. He let himself down in the Xmas UKOPS Main though - only 3rd..... That's all barely believable, but good luck to him, he's clearly a bit special by any standards.

    UKOPS 16 £5,000 Mini Bounty Hunter (£5,960)

    goonerjay has had a wonderful October. After being absent from these threads for 2 years, won both Mini Predator & Reload, then topped it off by taking last night's UKOPS Mini.

    reeler must be loving UKOPS. Won £1,100 of buy-ins via the Elim Fr promo, ran 2nd in Saturday's UKOPS Main for £1,500, (using one of his free entries), & was 3rd here. Really pleased for him. I believe he's more often seen on the cash tables, so all the more impressive.

    Twice a recent 7 @ 7 winner, bakersdoze was 5th.

    PKRPar has some minor real-life distractions to deal with right now but still managed 6th, then ran 5th in UKOPS 19 later in the evening.

    @Letsgoooo 0 2 £417.20 + £83.28 Head Prizes 8

    UKOPS 17 £3,000 Bounty Hunter (£3,520)

    Since winning both Mini Hitman & Mega in January we have seen very little of hazey64, but he took UKOPS 17 in fine style last night, with ozzie in 2nd.

    A terrific 4th place for NOSTRI, who let's not forget does his bit for the Community by running MML.

    Far from an easy FT either, as evidenced by PRhack93 & UnEuropean in 5th & 6th.

    @hazey64 528000 1 £484 + £277.25 Head Prizes 15

    UKOPS 18 £4,000 Bounty Hunter (£5,250)

    seikus seems to be winning a biggie every month, in August it was a Sunday Major, repeated the trick in September, then took last night's UKOPS 18 for around £1,200. In fact he's won the Major FOUR times since the Spring of this year.

    @seikus 525000 1 £748.12 + £453.25 Head Prizes 8

    Sacking Nuno after 5 minutes in charge makes little sense, especially as a large part of the Spurs problem is the way the Kane saga has been handled by the club, for which Nuno bears no responsibility.

    All true but pretty much every big club in the Premier League has done the same at some point

    To be fair, and @Tikay10 is perfectly capable of answering himself, I don’t think he implied that the don’t deserve a good manager but they don’t deserve a good man as manager. They have gone from the archetypical villain, Mourinho, to a man who may well have been fifth or sixth choice (I’ve forgotten how many turned down the job) but of whom I have not heard a bad word spoken. Now given that they sacked Poch to make way for Jose, then sacked Jose on the eve of a cup final (not exactly a frequent event for Spurs), I have little sympathy with the cost of all these managers to the owners and hope they all get fully paid out!
