Funny how times change. Only last year we were asked to clap for carers, despite the government abandoning them with very little PPE and sending Covid positive patients into the care homes "to save the NHS".

Now they're sacking them.
It is a huge number to sack. They already have 105,000 vacancies for care workers, so this is bound to cause chaos. However if I had a parent that was resident at a care home, I would want all the staff to be vaccinated. Care home residents are the most vulnerable, and deserve as much protection as possible. Although reducing staffing levels to this extent is bound to make providing a reasonable level of care extremely difficult. You can almost guarantee that this government will not have a plan on how to replace them. Another question is, are they expecting the taxpayer to fund the benefits of any of these people, who have effectively resigned from their job?
'I wish I'd had the vaccine': Anti-vaxxer vegan's final words to his wife before dying from Covid in hospital... after the 54-year-old refused jab because it had been tested on animals
Glynn Steel, 54, tested positive for Covid after taking a lateral flow test but after his health started to decline, his wife Emma took him into Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
Piers Corbyn leads flash mob of Covid deniers chanting 'wearing a mask is like trying to keep a **** in your trousers' as they break into song on Tube train
Piers Corbyn and his mob of anti-maskers have a released a song filmed on a tube train railing against having to wear a piece of cloth on their face for a few minutes. The one sentence chant - of which Corbyn appeared to forget the words to at one point - was videoed on the London Underground. It is hugely embarrassing for Sadiq Khan, who is desperately trying to encourage passengers to start masking up on the Transport for London trains. The composer behind the song is not fully known, but the video starts with a well-spoken man reading The Light, which is an anti-lockdown publication. He suddenly looks up, as if awoken from an unspoken malaise and furiously discards his tatty white mask. The man looks plaintively around the carriage, which is hushed awaiting for him to impart his thoughts. Then he declares: 'You know, wearing a mask is like trying to keep a **** in your trousers.'
Healthcare worker whose anti-vax mom, 40, died of COVID while her dad, 42, fought for his life in the ICU slams 'ignorant idiots' who spread vaccine misinformation that led her parents to ignore her pleas to get jabbed
Jeremy, 42, and Monica Voss, 40, were both vocal against the COVID-19 vaccine before being hospitalized with COVID in late October. While on oxygen, Jeremy (pictured inset left in the hospital) changed his tune and urged his friends to get the jab. He also apologized to his daughter Faith Voss-Paulson for not believing her about the importance of the vaccine. On Facebook, Faith furiously critisized 'ignorant fools' among her parents' friends who 'encouraged' them to be 'against masks and vaccines.' She said she 'begged them to get the vaccine, pleaded' and now she is 'so furious and scared.' On November 26, Monica, a mother-of-four, died from complications of COVID.
They couldn't organise the proverbial! Now Boris insists DON'T call off Christmas parties after muddled ministers spark wave of festive cancellations and super-spreader event in Norway infects up to SIXTY people out of 120 with Omicron
The meal at the Louise seafood restaurant on Oslo's waterfront is believed to be the world's biggest outbreak of the new strain so far. Norwegian epidemiologists have ruled out the possibility the infections are Delta variant cases and said there was a 'high probability' it was Omicron because at least one of the Scatec employees had recently returned from the renewable energy company's South African office in Cape Town. It came as one of Boris Johnson's business ministers today plunged Christmas party plans for millions of Britons into further chaos after declaring it would be 'sensible' to limit them to 'four or five staff' or axe them completely as hospitality bosses said the Government's muddled and confusing advice had led to a 'catastrophic' 48 hours for the industry. George Freeman, the Under Secretary of State for Science, revealed that he was cancelling his own department's bash, changing it to drinks on Zoom instead amid concerns over the new Omicron variant, admitting: 'It won't be the best party in the world'. Sacha Lord, the night-time economy adviser for Greater Manchester, said the advice from UK Health Security Agency head Dr Jenny Harries on Tuesday that people should not socialise unnecessarily - which kicked off the row - had been 'catastrophic for the industry'. He told Sky News: 'In the last 48 hours it's been catastrophic for the industry. We've seen office parties cancelled, flights are cancelling, it's been a huge domino effect. This isn't just restaurants, this is the whole ecology around it - it's the supply chain, it's the taxis, it's hotel rooms, it's everything that goes with it'.

The strain on the system can’t cope. It is absolutely certain the the U.K. won’t cope either.
Backtracking now required.
According to the headlines this morning, they intend to delay this until Spring.
A lot can happen between now and then.

Fun Palast is hoping to increase vaccination rates, as well as client numbers which have dropped because of the pandemic.
