Who won what, Wednesday 3rd November, UKOPS Day 6 - big big shock in the Main

Tikay10Tikay10 Member, Administrator, Moderator Posts: 171,805

Afternoon.

Reasonable UKOPS traffic last night, with Prize Pools beating guarantees by some 19%, not too bad considering UKOPS 37 missed by just 3 entries, & the PLO8 only got over the line by 4 entries. 4 more nights of that will do nicely.

Last night's Liverpool game was tremendously entertaining, & it must be said, the Champions League really is a great product. Man of the match? For me, it has to be the referee, Danny Makkelie, he was absolutely spot on. It took about 20 minutes & a needless red card before the players worked out this was not a guy to mess with. And the players could not even get away with the usual feigning injury & play-acting injury to buy time, the Ref was having none of it. Football would be so much better if we had more referees like Danny.

£2,000 UKOPS 33 £2,080

    UKOPS 33 £2,000 PLO8 (£2,080)

    A most entertaining PLO8 affair, with victory falling to Hogwartz, who dominated both the tables & the chat box. Not a shy individual, I'd suggest. Been here 9 years & been consistently profitable at a low level, (ABI = £2), but almost doubled his lifetime profit in one fell swoop last night.

    It was a tremendous PLO8 baptism for Asho28, who so nearly won it, on what was his first serious attempt at The Great Game. I fancy we'll see more of him at the plopper tables now. Almost certainly his best ever UKOPS cash too. Hours before the game he was busy asking others what the rules were. Bet he loved every minute of it.

    I really thought bbMike might take it down, he has plenty of PLO8 experience & a great temperament for poker, but sometimes the cards just don't fall kindly, & edges in PLO8 are wafer-thin.

    In 4th, playing just his 4th Sky Poker MTT of 2021, though I noted his ABI is reported as over £50, so I'm guessing he's not exactly wet behind the ears at the pokerz.

    Top entertainment.

    UKOPS 34 £10,000 Rebuy (£11,750)

    Sensational stuff here as hughjarse9, who has been carrying all before him, could only finish 38th, & don't forget, it was a Rebuy, so he presumably had a few second-chances. At least we know he's human now, & just as well, the conspiratorial tongues were wagging at his eye-popping UKOPS & SPT results.

    Tonyzya took the win, comfortably besting the £2,300 he collected when he won a September BWBH, during which he took a whopping 19 heads.

    2nd was Arsenal fan Alvez, one of the biggest cash players on the site, & a man we had the pleasure of hosting in Punta Cana a few years ago where he was huge fun.

    4th was Ian Simpson, whom many of you may remember from the Sky Poker TV Days where he was an occasional analyst, though few could understand him as he spoke with a really weird accent, a Geordie I suspect. He is off to Vegas for the rear end of the WSOP in a few days, good luck mate.

    Man of the Match might just go to 3rd placed Han94x, who qualified the hard way, starting with a £2.60 satellite & then an £11 satellite. This was a £50 Rebuy & his ABI is about 4 quid so I'd be very surprised if he made use of the Rebuy button. So he ended up with £1,175 from his £2.60 investment, & above that, he almost certainly experienced the most exhilarating night of his poker life. Bravo him.

    GuyL2, with 3 UKOPS wins in the previous 48 hours, could only manage 8th.

    A few of the boys did well, including jordz16, Dembele, craigcu12 & even PBKR, who has had a quiet UKOPS so far.

    And let's not forget Nil Channing, who just about got past the money bubble & went home with £258.

    UKOPS 35 £4,000 Mini Rebuy (£4,950)

    Jscorgie is having a belting UKOPs & this win helped take him to the top of the UKOPS Leaderboard, which awards £1,000 to the winner.

    Just as I wrote that PBKR was having a quiet UKOPS he almost went & won this, coming up an agonising one spot short.

    7th was Dooobs, who is a bit handy at PLO8 & was in contention at one stage before fading to finish 25th.

    UKOPS 36 £3,000 Bounty Hunter (£3,540)

    A really pleasing result here, with the win going to Ollie, aka Summers119. Used to be a Daily Forum Comp regular but we've not seen him for a while. Liverpool fan & a golfer, so he must be a decent sort. On the downside, he runs with a glum bunch of reprobates which includes @goldnballz @bbmike, the even-tempered @waller02 & Grumpy Jac. Oh well, nobody is perfect.

    Runner-up was a player many tipped to do well in this UKOPS, UnEuropean. Plenty of time for him to shine yet.

    UKOPS 37 £4,000 Turbo Bounty Hunter (£4,000)

    newdaddy got his UKOPS win after a series of near misses - 3rd in Friday's Main, 7th in Sunday's Main, & 6th in Sunday's High Roller. Not bad considering he has only played 11 of the 38 events so far.

    Arguably the toughest FT of the night, with mcg899, gaming 123, Hoff & tonyp all in contention.

    My reverse bok of PBKR seemed to work too, 3rd here after 2nd in the Mini, 14th in the Main & 11th in the PLO8. "A quiet UKOPS" indeed....

    @newdaddy 385000 1 £622.50 + £410.33 Head Prizes 8

    @mcg899 0 2 £415 + £178.71 Head Prizes 6

    I can confirm that Hugh is human. I managed to bag the seat right next to him two nights running for me (FML). He managed to suck out on me first night to send me to the rail (he had a gazillion more chips than me), and I was getting my forms ready for the tin foil hat brigade. Second time in the rebuy, he had a shocker, right up there with my worst nights in rebuys. As I hit the rail later, I was consoled with the knowledge that I had done a much smaller portion of my nuts than Hugh had. No doubt he is crying into his big pile of cash today.

    Hope he recovers from the downswing. Please sit him somewhere else on Friday.

    Cheers.

    Yes, I heard he had a rebuy or two.

    That was some rush he had.
