Morning.
This UKOPS series continues to do well. Aggregate prize pools last night exceeded guarantees by some 21%, and I suspect if that continued for the rest of the week Sky Poker would be quietly pleased. There, that should bok it.
Antonio Conte began his reign at Spurs last night as only he could, arms whirling & pointing in all directions from the touchline. He's some character & will brighten up the Premier League just as he did when at Chelsea.
The Yorkshire Cricket Club racism affair is of course the headline. Sponsors are leaving in droves, Headingly has lost the Test matches they were due to host next year, & the Chairman has resigned, admitting the club are racist & firing verbal volleys in all directions. And now Michael Vaughan's name enters the scene, he is cricket's version of Piers Morgan. You can make your own mind up on Vaughan, but if you are not aware of his history, google "Michael Vaughan racist?" & all sorts of stuff comes up. Pity the BBC who employ him, as they will come under pressure now.

UKOPS 39 £3,000 Bounty Hunter (£3,100)
The evening began with a player few of us have heard of - scud1206 - winning UKOPS39. Seems to be new around here the last month or two, & this was easily their best result yet.
2nd was craigcu12, who has played most of the UKOPS events so far if I'm not mistaken. Three cashes in the book before last night - 3rd in UKOPS05, 6th in UKOPS 21, 4th in UKOPS 32 & now 2nd in UKOPS39. He may be a little disappointed with his returns so far, but it's important to remember the stunning power of variance. So I hope Craig sets his course & sticks to it, it's a long game we play & results don't mean much in the short term. The worry, of course, as with so many poker players, is that we over-tweak & over-analyse. It's a bit like a golf swing, we tinker with it to solve one problem & create three others. Decide the right way forward & stick with it for at least a few thousand games. And of course he knows that, so he'll be fine.
In 6th was SwannLol, who you will recall won Tuesday's UKOPS High Roller for over £4,000.

UKOPS 40 £15,000 Bounty Hunter (£17,800)
If the bookies were pricing up "will win a UKOPS this series" Tedson would have been odds-on. In fact last night was only Day 7 of 10 & he's won two already - Tuesday's High Roller & now last night's Main. In the last two years he has now 5 big UKOPS events, collecting 1st prizes of £11,500, £8,000, £7,200, £3,600 & £3,300. Throw in a few Sunday Majors too. He's also a gent in the chat-box, always a sign (to me) of a player with a good temperament.
bluecall07 was runner-up, & our man HAYSIE, who has had a very light UKOPS playing schedule so far, 3rd.
In 4th was TIMBER aka Carl, who we can expect to see up at SPT Manchester next week.
This was the Main, & so our man hughjarse9 played it, finishing in 62nd place, so that's two nights in a row he's bricked. Always had him down as a flash-in-the-pan.

I half expected bbMike to win Wednesday's UKOPS PL08 but he let me down & only ran 3rd, but then he popped up last night to take down the Mini, & a decent Mini at that, collecting almost £900.

thedazzman is having a terrific UKOPS, 5th in Tuesday's High Roller, a result he can be super proud of, & then he took down last night's UKOPS 42. Great stuff Dazzy, keep it up.
In 3rd was chrisdonkb, & that will do his Leaderboard hopes no harm at all, he was sitting third before last night & wont be far off the lead come Sunday.

UKOPS 43 £4,000 Turbo Bounty Hunter (£5,000)
This one probably gets the "toughest final of the night" accolade, look at that line-up of heavy hitters.
Congrats to newdaddy who completed a 24 hour UKOPS double - Wednesday's UKOPS 37 & last night's UKOPS 43. He only played 5 games in total over the two nights so that's some hit-rate. In fact he has only played 14 of this Series events, & has made 4 Final; Tables. Very often less is more.

ozzy1994 took the closer. Quite a talkative chap in the chat-boxes, no idea what his day-job is but it's unlikely to be in the Diplomatic Corps.

In other news...
My morning peruse of Twitter yielded the fact that Sam aka @IVIystical decided to chance his arm & play the Super 50 over on Party last night & finished 8th for $945. Not huge in the greater scheme of things, but it was to Sam, in fact I think it was his best result ever. He has mostly played micro-stake stuff until recently but he's now moving up the stakes & doing very well. One of those lads who really enjoys his poker, as all recreationals should. You going to play it again, Sam?
If you want to follow Sam on Twitter, @IVIystical will do the job.
