Can YOU crack Charles Dickens' secret code? Academics offer £300 reward to decipher the author's mysterious letters The so-called 'Tavistock letter' is written in Charles Dickens' personal shorthand Letter is one of the last surviving manuscripts from Dickens but has never been read since no one has managed to decipher the author's code Leicester and Foggia universities have now asked the public to solve the code If the letter is fully or partially deciphered, the codebreaker will receive £300
I’ve managed to crack some of the code, perhaps others could fill in the blanks.
It reads ~ “ To whom it may concern, I have seen the future and it is bleaketh. I have asked my manservant Anthony Fitzwaller Ke…ll to deliver this post haste. A gentleman by the name of Stanley Joh….on is planning to have a child by nefarious means. He plans to sell his souleth to the devil ( The unborn child) Which soever job this unholy devil spawn enters, I fear for the people surrounding him, and those who do his bidding. Please stop him, for if this spawn of Satan ever enters the political fray , I fear for all mankind.
