I'm back. Well not that that's going to cause a huge panic in the micro mtt department. £30 -£250

Yee hah, well just sort of hi.

Managed 3 cashes out of four mtts since reloading a tiny £30 on Thursday. Nothing major as a 3rd an 8th and an 18th paid me out and 10th left me 2 spots off but it represents a huge return to something resembling Edgeitivity.

So here's the rub, I'm aiming to get this up to £250 by April playing nothing bigger than £5.50 and you good folks get to suffer my inane ramblings on poker, variance and life in general.

As of now the balance lies at £41 so yay its all good.

Oh yeah, just remembered, allow me to update you on a "story from the doors" I did a while ago.

If you remember I related a story regarding an Afro Caribbean Night that was held at Staffs Uni (Stafford site) where the hero (Tim) was found to be lacking in any of the requisite skills to be proficient in door supervising.

Well it transpires that said Doorman is currently employed as a doorman at a local casino. I found this out when a visit resulted in me meeting Tim who greeted me at the door.

It would appear that he is actually held in some regard by his employers and the other staff so one can only assume that Tim has either evolved into a competent door supervisor or in fact alien life forms have invaded, taken over and are infiltrating by masquerading as Tim.

Whatever it was nice to see him healthy and well and I genuinely wish him all the best.

Ok thats all from me, its 3.30am and I'm out of beer.

Speak soon , love y'all

Mark

Ho hum and a week in sees a state of relative calm over Edge world. A small amount of play had seen the balance drop to about £25 but a small run on Weds 8 out of 10 cashes playing 28p dym and then a 2nd spot in Thursdays 9.15 deep means the balance sits at a tad over£50 so a small amount of breathing space.

In fact I probably played the best poker I have managed for some time sitting 9th of ten as the bubble burst, I navigated a smallish 10 - 15 bb stack through 9/9 to 8/8 then 7/7. I got to the FT as a very dominated short stack but soon realised that most of the table were more interested in laddering than winning so hit the aggro pedal and began chipping up.

Great heads up battle with @GlendaG123 lasting 45 minutes which saw us both hold a 5/1 chip lead on 2 occasions, but eventually, and in hindsight deservedly, Glenda held sway and I had to settle for the silver medal.

So, don't really have plans to play any particular things with the exception of tomorrows Orfy, got to improve om last weeks 8th. Not really putting the volume in to be competitive in the micro masters and am frequently the strongest entry in the daily forum comp. this is evidenced by the fact that I frequently hold all the other entrants up from my lowly position.

Hope you are all spiffingly top hole as we hurtle toward the manic, "most wonderful time of the year".

Stay safe, keep well, love y'all

    Best feeling in MTT's ever.

    Keep it going Mark.

What are your Xmas plans? Lots of Family stuff presumably?

Thanks Tony, yes sometimes it is a pretty good feeling, especially when you're getting the timing right and other players are playing mega tight.

Assuming that we aren't in lockdown it's Christmas Eve with Mum who's at my Sisters for the Holidays and hopefully a Midnight Mass at a local Church.

Christmas Day, it's become something of a tradition to usually drive around Hanley giving out small gifts to the rough sleepers. Hats gloves etc that sort of thing, then visit Son and family, oldest daughter and family before going to other daughters for Dinner and drinks, then Boxing Day its down to the caravan assuming Wales doesn't shut, until NYE.

Will have plated up some Xmas dinners and these get taken to Rhyl and we drive to where we know there are homeless and we give these out along with hot drinks we make in situ with a travel kettle. It costs us about £20 in disposable plates, cups, coffee, tea, soup etc. which is like our gift to them.

Then its a week or so of doing nothing except chilling, some mountain time and hopefully plenty of poker, sky sports and a little beer and whisky.

Back home NYE, spend that with Mum who's on her own then all back to Wales with Mum in tow until the site shuts on the 10th.

Oh dear, as week 2 draws to a close I can't help but think that I'm absolutely pants at poker.

The balance stands at £31.99 which means that the gains of the last fortnight ride off into the distance carried on the galloping hooves of fickle fate.

So almost back where I started, I suppose that I could claim to have had 2 weeks of free poker but honestly I could go to a 1001 sites and use play money for that. In fact its been downhill all month really as the spread bets have proved costly, the exchanges have been rinsed by the scalpers and arbitrage has been non existant.

Ah well you can't win em all I suppose, although the occasional win would be nice.

BUSTO - Again, lol, ah well I spose I can always reload. Maybe use a little of my Chrimbo money. Will have to wait til tomorrow though.

Just played the worst poker ever, no structure, no plan, no reasoning, no money. Ah the ebbs and flows of lifes rich tapestry.

Anyhow Christmas Day was good, managed to pressie bomb some homeless folk, spent time with all the kids and grandkids so that was great.

Just now plating up some dinners for Rhyls homeless and will be setting off to Wales in about 30 minutes or so for a few days at the van. Been up since 7.30 which is stupid o'clock for me but this stuff takes time and I was awake anyway.

So I'll reload soon and you can all come get some.

    Speak soon, love y'all.
