yh but after the flop, with top pair, surely i cant expect this man to have 3&7's, to be honest i thought he was waiting on the flush.

Folded pre flop, if it was a passive table then maybe raise it but 99% of the time fold pre imo.

yh but iv got top pair, no one was betting big before the flop so im not thinkin anyone has a high pair, so with top pair against poor cards like 3&7 surely i gotta make the most out of it ?

You shouldn't have got into the pot with Queen Nine off suit in the first place, that was your mistake.  IMHO

When you have the best hand the action wont be going bet call though. Fold pre flop fo'shure.

We did not raise pre, so our opponents can have ANYTHING, & we must assume that.

Limping in, then falling in love with our hand, is the short cut to Carey Street.

Find a better situation to get stubborn!

i can tell ur quite  a loose player so i dont particularly mind u calling pre,
then on flop when he min re-re-raises u, its obvious he has atleast got a better queen....if not two pair or set....
BUT as its only 150 more, and woti have seen from ur play, u call thinking ur priced in as pot is now quite big.....but on turn, u call all in? that even on playing loose was bad, u r literally beating nothing but a flush draw, which is highly unlikely to be played like that...and if he did hav FD u wud have lost anyway LOL.
but that's only in ur play, in my play and most people's play, fold pre-flop is the short answer lol

    Hi Rob.
Forgetting that you hit top pair on the flop, I think what you have to remember here is, that there was a raise pre-flop and calling this raise with the cards you had in your hand is where you made your mistake. If you had folded pre-flop after the raise you would'nt have been involved in this hand and saved your chips.

Although you did hit top pair on the flop, there are still quite a few hands that could be beating you, if someone else had a Q for instance your kicker would have let you down.

That being said, they are your cards and you can do with them what you like, but if your asking advice to improve your game, the best advice I can give you is fold these hands pre-flop and you wont get involved.

    Good Luck M8

yeah true but i play to a routine before flop that i have been learning about where i only go on certain cards and these cards were in that routine, although after somone raised i should have folded.  Also i understand i shouldnt have gone all in but i was tryin to be aggressive and i suppose the signs i was getting off the other play does suggest i was going to lose, but thanks for the advice mate, be nice to play with u some time

Basically..... I would have folded pre-flop and never considered limp/calling a raise with q 9 offsuit ever again in my entire life
