Who won what, UKOPS Day 1, Monday 27th December - some surprising results on UKOPS Day 1

Tikay10Tikay10 Member, Administrator, Moderator Posts: 171,805

Morning.

Well UKOPS is up & running, & the players would have been pleased to help themselves to a little bit of overlay in 02, 03 & 05. The other 4 UKOPS Events did fine, as did the 6 non-UKOPS Featured MTT's which ran. Overall, a busy night.

We have 13 MTT's to look at today, so will keep the waffle to a minimum. There are full write-ups on all the UKOPS stuff, but just sporadic comments on the non-UKOPS ones, there's just too many for me to report on them all properly.

As for sport, Australia officially regained the Ashes 1 hour & 20 minutes into Day 3 of the Third Test. It's quite a feat to be beaten so quickly & comprehensively. Aussie debutant bowler Boland had the astonishing figures of 6 wickets for 7 runs.

In football, we saw a real thriller at Newcastle, where Man U were very lucky not to get beaten. The lowlight for Man U was an absolute horror performance by Harry Maguire, who appears to have lost his way big time.

    UKOPS 01 £5,000 Rebuy B/Hunter (£8,120)

Xmas UKOPS got underway with an interesting win for lecksville, securing his best result since all way back in 2012 when he took down a £6,000 Rebuy & was 2nd in PRIMO (remember that?) in the space of two days. And now, 9 long years later, he adds a UKOPS. His only other result of note after 3,000 MTT's in 9 years was 2nd in an Avenger Main in June of this year. Lovely to see.

    Crushy began well with a 4th place finish, & PRhack93 was 6th.

    UKOPS 02 £20,000 High Roller (£20,000)

Other than winning a £6k BH this Spring, PokaBayB9 had not really pulled up many trees until last Friday, when he took down BWBH for around £1,100. Last night he easily beat that when collecting £5,800 in winning UKOPS 2 High Roller. Interesting how a player can be seemingly dormant for years & then suddenly win two biggies within a couple of days.

The runner-up ciaranmac is quite a story too, not often you see a player with an ABI of less than £4 do so well in a £220 High Roller. Even better, he won his seat last week in a Rewards Freeroll, so he was in for zero cost. Fabulous, & that's why these freebie UKOPS seats in Rewards Freeroll are such a good thing.

4th & 5th were ValueJL & fishhhhh, who have respective Sharky ratings of 96 & 94, which is seriously big time.

In horse racing, we so often see C & D (Course & Distance) specialists, who do well in particular races at specific tracks. Well in poker that's craigcu12, and if we could bet on him making the Final of a vanilla High Roller on Sky Poker we'd make fortunes. Once again he did well, slowly increasing his stack as the game wore on, & sitting 2nd at one stage before things went a little awry near the end. Splendid result, all the same, & that's at least the 4th High Roller Final he's made here.

Just missing the money in 11th & 12th were blast from the past style2737, & hughjarse9 who has had such an astonishing year on Sky Poker.

    UKOPS 03 £20,000 Bounty Hunter (£20,000)

UKOPS 03 was last night's Main, & it went to M0RG4NT0R. Won a seat into the HR via a satellite & did quite well, eventually finishing 19th, but in the BH Main he did much better & got the lot.

Cammykaze was chippie at one point, & I was rather hoping he might win it, as he's not had the easiest of years one way & another, even so, 3rd was a decent score. Busy boy yesterday too, playing over 100 DYM's & MTT's until the early hours of this morning, then back on site again before 9am.

4th was MikeyW94, who may have had a bit of luck elsewhere recently, with dear old HAYSIE battling away to finish 6th, which will delight his army of fan.

    UKOPS 04 £5,000 Mini Bounty Hunter (£6,770)

More "course & distance" stuff here, as hugs1 takes the UKOPS Mini. Has exactly one previous Results Thread namecheck, & that was also a UKOPS Mini, in Easter of last year. One big difference though is that last year's Easter UKOPS was smack in the middle of the Boomlet & made a whopping £11,130, compared to £6,770 last night.

Team Big Boy were represented by chrisdboy & roddy28 in 4th & 5th.

Swog, who did so well to run 4th in Sunday's Major, just missed the Final in 7th.

    UKOPS 05 £3,000 Mega Stack B/Hunter (£3,000)

A little annoyingly, Sharky seems to have missed this one. Anyway, it went to jared8 of whom I know little - well nothing really - with fishhhhh, who was 5th in the HR, the runner-up.

Mr Arrogant was 3rd, with MattBates making his only FT of the session in 6th.

5th was IVIystical who has endured a mini downswing lately, so he'll be a tad miffed that Sharky has not included this result.

    UKOPS 06 £4,000 Turbo Bounty Hunter (£4,350)

Since winning Sheriff 2 weeks ago we've not seen much of MikeyW94, just 5 or 6 MTT's until last night, but he soon kicked back into gear, winning UKOPS 06 after running 4th in UKOPS 03.

Runner-up was doooobs, who was well up with the leaders in the HR for most of the evening before fading towards the end.

With scotty77 in 3rd, & Sharki0 & BlairReid both on the FT too, this was a pretty tough one.

    UKOPS 07 £3,000 Hyper Rebuy B/Hunter (£3,700)

We saw a sensational performance here, as the winner took a spectacular 21 heads from the 94 runner field. As a result, his Head Prizes amounted to a whopping £696, which was more than 1st place prize money of £527. Nothing in the back-history of Eddy95 suggested he was capable of spread-eagling a UKOPS field in such a comprehensive fashion. Was a tough top three too, with seikus & nishg, both more than handy, the other podium-ates.

    4th was XTUCKERX, who won a 7 @ 7 a few days ago.

    £1,000 Turbo Bounty Hunter (£1,230)

Turbo went to last Thursday's Hitman Main winner, janechrist, a player for whom poker does not seem much fun judging by their table chat.
