Who won what, UKOPS Day 4, Thursday 30th December - Crushy crushes.

Tikay10Tikay10 Member, Administrator, Moderator Posts: 171,805

Morning.

Well that's another UKOPS done & dusted, & it went pretty well all things considered. There were only a few guarantees missed, all narrowly, and there were no nasty surprises from the software, so I think that's a bit of a result. Some wonderful performances put up by a few players too. It'll soon be Easter, & we can do it all again.

This is the 365th & last Results Thread of 2021, so I'd like to say to all of those who read it & occasionally comment - thank you. 2021 ends at midnight, so let me wish you all a healthy, COVID free & contended 2022.

So that's the waffle out of the way, now let's have a look at who won what. I'll do a write up on all the UKOPS jobbies, but just the bare results of the non-UKOPS stuff.

£10,000 UKOPS 20 £10,000

£20,000 UKOPS 21 £22,400

£3,000 UKOPS 24 £3,680

£4,000 UKOPS 25 £4,000

    UKOPS 20 £10,000 Bounty Hunter (£10,000)

    Vince_107 played some 800 MTT's this year & zig-zagged between profit & loss throughout, then won his biggest purse of the year - ~ £1,670 - on 30th December to end up with a healthy profit. If he were a jockey, he'd be Lester Piggott, getting up right on the line.

    PBKR - who made a goodly profit from a relatively small sample size this year - absented himself from Xmas UKOPS until last night, and even then this was the only event he played, so 7th place & £257 seems very decent.

    @Vince_107 1645000 1 £1342.22 + £325.39 Head Prizes 9

    @do67 0 2 £800.27 + £109.35 Head Prizes 4

    UKOPS 21 £20,000 High Roller B/Hunter (£22,400)

    A High Roller tends to sort the wheat from the chaff, & the 6 Finalists are all proper poker players.

    Hard to say who is the best, but the winner, Doobsy, has 6 figures in Live Cashes including winning a GUKPT Grand Final, so he's certainly a contender. On Sky Poker in 2021 he's played around 1,000 MTT's & made somewhere in the region of £15,000 if Sharky is correct. So that's not bad either.

    In 2nd was clov4r, who appeared from nowhere a few months ago & has since won a Main, a Mini, a Sheriff & a Turbo, though 2nd here last night was his biggest score.

    Dog Bloke, scotty & lolufold were 3rd, 4th & 5th, and I've written plenty about those three throughout the year, so I'll leave it at that, except to say I'm delighted to be friends of all three & have great respect for them.

    Actually, that applies to Dooobs also, one of my closest friends in poker, with whom I've shared some great - & not so great - times in Vegas, very often on the same table. We were on the bubble of a Vegas MTT one day & he was in a hand, with 1 card to come he was 97% favourite, so I said "well done David", & then the Dealer then delivered the crushing outdraw. It took an hour or two before he forgave me.

    @Doooobs 1120000 1 £3192 + £2126.37 Head Prizes 13

    @clov4r 0 2 £2049.60 + £883.96 Head Prizes 6

    @rspca12 0 3 £1276.80 + £562.50 Head Prizes 7

    @scotty77 0 4 £1036 + £493.65 Head Prizes 4

    @lolufold 0 5 £845.60 + £398.44 Head Prizes 4

    @GuyL2 0 6 £705.60 + £75 Head Prizes 1

    UKOPS 22 £30,000 MAIN EVENT (£31,000)

    This was the UKOPS Main, & once again it delivered a very tough FT, with the win going to Crushy.

    Crushy had a great session even by his lofty standards, so to save repeating myself x times, here's how he did last night;

    UKOPS 22 Main - 1st

    UKOPS 25 - 6th

    UKOPS 26 - 1st

    Sheriff - 4th

    Reload - 5th

    Quickdraw - 1st

    So that's a win treble on the night, including a UKOPS win double, plus a 4th, a 5th and a 6th. Ridiculous.

    Has anyone had a better night in 2021?

    And a little piece of Crushy trivia for you - I learned yesterday that in 2021 he read at least 55 books. I thought I read a lot, usually around 50 books per year, but he beat even that. It surprised me greatly, though I'm not sure why. Mostly proper books too, as in non-fiction. Much respect to him.

    2nd was HODLdollar, with £4,650 surely being his best ever cash here.

    In 4th, & having their best MTT result of the year, was TommyD, another who many of us have shared wonderful times in Vegas.

    In 6th was M10Dembele, who had been AWOL for three weeks before turning up last night & playing the HR & Main. I believe he's a Scot, so I doubt he'll be playing tonight's MidEx.

    Too many cashees to mention, but I did want to say well done to IrishRose who was 13th. She was due to be in Vegas this week but had to cancel at the very last minute due to a COVID protocol problem, so at least she had some consolation. She looks after me at all the SPT's, plying me with lattes all day, so I need to keep her sweet.

    Well done too to cabbaz, Solly, style, craigcu12, jordz & Swog, all of whom had cashes.

    UKOPS 23 £4,000 Mini (£4,980)

    chrisdonkb delivered his 2nd win of the Series, UKOPS 08 on Tuesday, & UKOPS Mini last night. He's young, plays poker really well, & he's a looker. Life does not seem fair sometimes.

    3rd was cabbaz, which was at least his third FT of the Series, he won the Xmas Day Turbo too.

    Again, way too many cashees to namecheck, but they included StayOrGo, hhammerhea, Toffeeandy, BlairReid, Losecamel, Palace Bloke, Adam Bromley, & spearsy136. Oh, & I suppose I had better mention NOSTRI too.

    UKOPS 24 £3,000 Mega Stack B/Hunter (£3,680)

    God bless Whizzy, one of my special mates from my PLO8 days. Has well over 200,000 games to his credit on Sky Poker, but we rarely see him in MTT's - just 7,000 or so - so this is a biggie. Think it's his best ever cash too.

    goldnballz was 4th, he's generally there or thereabouts. Another one of those guys who takes his beats like a grown up.

    5th was tomb193, aka Mr Tomb, who binked £1,000 when winning an Eliminator Freeroll in October. I had occasion to exchange a few PM's with him & he's a proper Gent.

    I think you've heard enough about 1st & 3rd, and so I refuse to mention the name of either again. This year.

    PRhack93 (2nd) has had a decent year, & of course Mean Machine (5th) has probably never had a losing year in his life. When he plays "Live" poker, he has a pretty mean staredown by any standards. Really though he's a great big softy.

    Thanks Tikay. Another cracking write up; the succinct / informative balance struck beautifully as always. Sadly, the UKOPS 24 was the only game I managed to play this Christmas, but I hope to feature a bit more heavily in March. Happy New Year

    Ha, had managed to forget that particular tournament up until now. Think I was quicker to forgive than that, though think I did let the f bomb go at the time. Think my exact words were "Why the f did you say that?". I don't think it was a bad trip overall, so was all good in the end.

    Thanks for all these updates, they are always welcome despite the above. It was a great way to end the test, having been down 7k overall at one point. Pretty sure 15K is an exaggeration, and am up about half that in the end. I'd have been chuffed to break even at the low point.

    I got a bit lucky in a couple of spots last night, I did the AJ straight vs AK shortie on the river at the final table (sure have been the victim many times); and managed to get away from top 2, 5 handed. I did curse and think I am going to be so tilted if I am ahead here with the big pot and 2 large bounties (it was vs a set and a straight). Also I seem to have run so bad in those £100 bounty hunters recently, I was saying to myself that 11th would be fine when I was 4/14. Got that all back with interest though.

    Anyway happy new year all, and gl for next year.
