Who won what, Friday 31st December 2021 - rankers & baxter21 win the 2 biggies to end 2021 on a high

Morning.

Some of you may be a little bleary-eyed this morning, and I'm certainly feeling a lack of zing & zap, so we'll keep the thread mercifully brief today.

I was quite surprised to see the Guarantees last night were unchanged, despite it being New Year's Eve. There were in fact small misses in Avenger Main & Reload, but that apart numbers were surprisingly good all things considered.

On the topic of Guarantees, please note that tonight's Sharpshooter Main has increased from £6,000 to £8,000. I've no idea if it can sustain that, but if it can't the remedy is easy.

In the New Year's Honours list, sport was well-represented, many of them Olympians. The top Honours went to Laura & Jason Kenny, holders of no less than 15 Gold Medals, 12 of them gold. Very rare to see a husband & wife team honoured at the same time I would have thought.

Jonathan Rea got an OBE, & even young Emma Raducanu made the list despite her tender years.

The Honours system receives much abuse, perhaps rightly so, but whilst it exists, there's no reason these young men & women should not be proud.

7 @ 7 winner Bonham73 only has low MTT volume here (less than 150) but seems to be doing quite nicely. Last appeared in the thread this time in 2021.

£6,000 Big Weekend Bounty Hunter (£6,300)

A fine BWBH victory for rankers. In 2021 he was twice a Sheriff winner, plus 2nd in Summit, so it looks like he he ended 2021 with his biggest win. By way of celebration. I see he was playing £100 & £200 Heads Up Speeds at 6 & 7am this morning. Did OK too.

24 hours after a terrific 13th in the UKOPS Main, IrishRose was 4th. There's not much here she has not won, & I know she has taken down at least 1 Sunday Major. I doubt she spends too much time studying training videos or droning on about blockers & ranges, she just plays it as she sees it & it works wonderfully. Most refreshing.

    £8,000 Avenger Rebuy B/Hunter (£8,000)

Big win for baxter21 in the Avenger Main, or Waller Invitational as it is sometimes called. baxter notched up 2021 wins in the late night trio of Turbo, Quickdraw & MidEx, as well as Sharpshooter Mini, but this was his first biggie I believe.

scotty77 seemed to end the year in fine form, & was 5th.

Almost 2 years since running 2nd in Sharpshooter Main, MkII took down the Mini Version. Had been absent here for 9 months until returning on Xmas Eve, & played a handful of UKOPs without success, before registering the win here.

    £1,000 Mega Stack B/Hunter (£1,320)

RUTSTER used to be a frequent winner of the now defunct £1k BH @ 7.30pm, but that's all the info I have as he's "not available" on Sharky & other than those £1k BH's, nothing comes up on Forum search.

In 4th was MAGPIETYKE who had an excellent December, winning both 7 @ 7 & Quickdraw, as well as 2nd in a £6,000 BH.

    £1,500 Sheriff Bounty Hunter (£1,500)

whitters seems to be on a never ending upswing. Won at least 4 Mains in the last 4 months, and as recently as this week was runner up to PokaBayb9 in a £15,000 UKOPS.

    2nd was RCord, who won 7 @ 7 just 24 hours earlier.

    £1,500 Reload Rebuy B/Hunter (£1,500)

Returning after a 5 day absence, & single-tabling, daly07 made his thread debut with a Reload win.

Gotta love the alias of the player in 6th. I had a look on google images to see if I could find a suitable picture, only to quickly realise that was probably a bad idea. It's very odd that so many people find sexual innuendo funny. Why is that, I wonder?

    £1,000 Turbo Bounty Hunter (£1,200)

Now this is an alias & a half - Mr_God. Love it, although I suspect feminists may well be displeased. Has a very solid CV, including a Sharpshooter Main.

Arguably the night's toughest FT too, with roddy, loosecamel & Mean Machine all involved.

    £1,000 Quickdraw (£1,320)

utang, missing most of December, has won several Turbo but beat another good FT to take Quickdraw.

Mean Machine & roddy, who clashed in the Turbo FT, were both involved again, joined this time by Mr Arrogant, who made the Sheriff FT.

As an aside here, if I had to pick a "Forum Thread of the Year", the thread Mr Arrogant made about staking might be top of my list. Even now I can't decide if it was legit, or just a tremendous troll. I'm going to assume it was legit.

CABBAGE130 took the final Sky Poker MTT of 2021 - or more correctly, I suppose, the first MTT of 2022.
