Who won what, Saturday 8th January - Sharpshooter Main sees a hugely popular winner

Tikay10Tikay10 Member, Administrator, Moderator Posts: 173,934

Morning.

Another good session with very pleasing numbers. Considerably down year on year for all sorts of reasons, but even so, decent enough.

In the 4th Test, England just about clung on by their fingertips to get the Draw. When we have to rely on James Anderson to bat out the last two overs you know we are in deep trouble. Once the final ball had been successfully negotiated, the England players celebrated as if they had just won the Series 5-0, & Joe Root said "today we put some pride in the team". Pride, 3-0 down? And THAT is why we must install a proper captain at the earliest moment. A good captain would not have allowed us to become such a laughing stock, would not have been 3-0 down (+ a draw), and most certainly would not be "proud". Root is a terrific batsman, & a disastrous Captain. The establishment like him though, so the cracks will be plastered over & we'll carry on with good old Joe.

    The Sharpy Main went to Arrogant, who has won everything there is to win here. His chat box responses are unbelievably good & he's fast becoming one of my favourite players here. It's SO hard to tell if he is serious or has his tongue in his cheek most of the time. Last summer he won the Major twice in a matter of weeks. On the first occasion he got very lucky late on v @KidGrimsby, and by way of acknowledgement, gifted KidGrimsby a £220 SPT seat. Hands up who else has ever done that? For balance, I'm sure he can live up to his alias when the mood takes him too. He is so good that some players actually high-five, celebrate & tell their mates when they bust him. How cool is that? Sure sign of a very good player indeed.

    Good effort in 5th by PRHack too.

    £2,000 Mini Sharpshooter (£2,710)

    Summers119 took the Mini. 6,000+ games here & has always been nicely profitable. Not a huge winner, but always making a few bob month after month & as far as I can tell, enjoying themselves. What else can a recreational aspire to? Perfect. Best recent result was winning UKOPS 36 in early November.

    £1,000 Mega Stack B/Hunter (£1,680)

    Mega went to wynne1938, one of the grand old guys of Sky Poker. Rumour has it he is into his eighties, & if so, bravo him. He was on the Forum yesterday trying to sort entry into tonight's Stack Builder & unforch I had to knock him back, so he got his revenge in the best possible way.

    Quite enjoyed seeing the alias of the player in 3rd - anoonamous.

    MAGPIETYKE was 4th, with tomgoodun 5th.

    £1,500 Sheriff Bounty Hunter (£2,000)

    Having won Sheriff on Xmas Day, Palace Bloke returned to the scene of the crime last night & won it again. I was quite surprised to see it was his first featured MTT win of 2022. Anyone want to guess how many Featured MTT's he'll win this year? The line is 25, & I'll take the overs.

    3rd was another popular lad, Dog Bloke, with UnEuropean 4th.

    Reload was won by Kahuna96, his best 2022 result by a very long way indeed.

    £1,000 Turbo Bounty Hunter (£1,230)

    Turbo went to devil_tear, who has plenty of black type on his CV, including winning two UKOPS events on successive nights in November. More recently, he was 4th in the MidEx which started at Midnight on Friday, so technically 2 FT's yesterday.

    Runner-up AngelAngel has enjoyed an excellent week, making the FT of two Mains - Marksman on Monday & Hitman on Thursday.

    £1,000 Quickdraw (£1,260)

    Doooobs ended 2021 with a splendid win in a UKOPS High Roller for over £5,000, so a £400 Quickdraw win is maybe nothing to get excited about, but it all adds up.

    Once again our new mystery man M0RG4N4T0R was in the shake-up, with Friday's Avenger Main winner Blaisee in 6th.

    @Doooobs 154000 1 £220.50 + £184.45 Head Prizes 5

    @Poppywood 0 2 £138.60 + £104.53 Head Prizes 5

    £1,000 Midnight Express B/Hunter (£1,680)

    Plzfold has a 50% ROI over 1,500 games, a little too small a sample to draw too many conclusions. Seems handy enough though, with wins in the last 6 months in Mega, Turbo & Marksman Main.

    In 5th was Jeni82, with rancid in 6th.

    @PlzFold 252000 1 £239.40 + £221.21 Head Prizes 12

    @kalin68 0 2 £153.72 + £43.59 Head Prizes 4

    This time last year... (Saturday 9th January)

    Quite a night for @Super_Oli who made FIVE Final Tables. The thread featured a lovely 'photo from a Sky Poker Vegas trip too.

    I was unable to include this in yesterday's thread but I've added it today as I noticed an interesting oddity. Friday's Avenger Main was won by Blaisee - & he won the exact equivalent one year earlier too. Quite the double, that.

    Thanks for doing these, and the name check.
    I got really lucky in the mega stack, would you believe I won 457 flips in it, must be some kind of record surely?
