What are the odds?

Maybe a rhetorical question but I'm sure some wizard will work it out. :)
Bowling along nicely in an MTT the other night when I flopped a FH, AAAKK
I got action to all in and chummy had KKKK.
It didn't take me down but severely crippled me.
The very next hand I had a FH again and was knocked out by 9999.
If there are poker Gods, I must have upset them.

Never seen two consecutive hands where FH is beaten by Quads
have you?

I recall it happened to me live many years ago. It was at a Priority Sky Freeroll in Nottingham. I remember flopping quads the first hand, and some poor man flopping the House. He had the better pair pre-flop, too. Going to say I can't remember who it was. Because I wouldn't want to upset @TommyD

Next hand, I rivered the House, and someone else had Quads. I remember I found it very funny. Mind you, there was a free bar :)

Don't know the exact odds. But pretty sure they are substantial.

I remember the night of that £10,000 Freeroll well. The Marketing chap in charge at the time decided it would be a good idea to have a free bar all night for the players. Think it cost more than the Freeroll.

I believe Carl Froch - the boxer bloke - played it too.

    He did. Decent player, too.

Sure 1 of the Regs got a trophy saying "I knocked out Carl Froch"

Your memory is excellent. Not drinking must help. I also recall you sucked out on someone-I think it was Neil. You were a massive dog. Still massive dog on the flop. Then the turn made it look like a chop. And then the river gave you the win ;)

Typing my name above? Not so much :)

Yup, I'm teetotal & I still can't spell your alias correctly.

Have to say, being a non-drinker at an event where most of the players are seriously well-oiled is quite a tough gig. I've been alcohol free for 53 years & I still find it socially awkward.
