Adele was due to start a Las Vegas residency tomorrow, two shows every weekend for 12 weeks. Worth (reputedly) $500,000 per show to her, so $12 milly in total.
People have booked to go to Vegas especially to see her.
Less than 24 hours before, she has cancelled the entire thing.
"My show is not ready (sob sob)." Do you take that at face value, or is it all a bit diva-ish?
PS - for the elderly readers here -
@HAYSIE @Essexphil @stokefc @tomgoodun @Enut @MAXALLY @waller02 etc who may not know who Adele is, she's a sort of pop singer.

Seriously, what a weird story. Enormously rich person cancels a contract at the very last minute. Staff off sick? Hire new ones. It is Vegas. There are lots of alternatives.
She knew she hadn't put the effort in weeks ago. And should have said so. Weeks ago. Not treat her fans, and the venue, with contempt. Undoubtedly talented. But seemingly unreliable.
Is there nothing that people who fail to prepare won't try and blame on some world event we have known about for years? If it's not Covid, it's Brexit, or some other barely relevant excuse. Why won't people just admit when they have got something wrong?
Rant over
It's just that I can once again look at this forum without my teeth clenching
And there is a lot to be said for that.
It's going to be a long old session "at the gym" this afternoon
Arent you obligated to say other supermarkets are available.

Adele on Thursday shocked and angered her fans by canceling her Caesar's Palace Las Vegas residency at the last minute, leaving many stranded in the city out of pocket, and unsure whether they can afford the time and money to see her rescheduled show. Fans of the 33-year-old singer had shelled out up to $30,000 for resale tickets for the eagerly-anticipated show - her first live concert in five years. In a video posted to Twitter, Adele sobbed as she said that COVID-19 cases among members of her crew had made it impossible to bring the show to life in time. Adding to her woes were delivery delays that made it 'impossible to finish the show.' She added that she had been awake for 'over 30 hours' trying to solve logistical issues but had simply 'run out of time' to be ready on Friday. Many were sympathetic, but plenty were frustrated. 'This breaks my heart, for you and for me,' tweeted Amy Campbell, a medical professional in Tulsa, Oklahoma. 'I know how hard it is to put on a show, especially with a pandemic. 'But it's also hard to save enough money, to get time off work from a hospital, that is short staffed, book a flight and hotel, fly in two days early and find out 30 hrs before the show, when we are already here, that the reason we came for is not going to happen.'

I sort of sympathise with her tbh, if what she says is true ofc
Not convinced.
Half the crew come down with C19.
Hilarious
She isn't claiming she needs to delay for a week because her guitarist or her drummer/dancers or indeed anyone with a name has Covid.
She has cancelled all 12 weeks of a Vegas residency, and has no date for any rescheduling.
Covid is the excuse. Not the reason.
Think we've swapped sides
ALISON BOSHOFF: From the start of this year, rumblings had begun to circulate in Vegas. Specifically, it was said that Adele wasn't keen on any spectacular staging. She wanted it to be 'all about the voice'. Perhaps it was a sign of building anxiety. For despite this, the show was to be filled with production effects and dozens of musicians and singers. A choir of 60 singers was auditioned in early January and contracted to participate in a Skyfall opening number. Caesars Palace embarked on a complete overhaul of the dressing room originally created for Celine Dion - leading many to be convinced that Adele was in it for the long haul. Many in Vegas believed that the plan was for her to keep on with the residency until 2024, potentially netting her up to £100million - £50million from performance fees and the rest from merchandising. However gossip columnist Roger Friedman was convinced something was awry by January 18.
