Who won what, Thursday 3rd February - whitters wins yet another Main

Morning.

Traffic was OK, nothing special but perfectly acceptable.

The Forum had another good day, with the Posts & Views well above the usual run-rate thanks to some really good threads & debates which are helping drown out the conspiracy theory nonsense which had got a bit out of hand.

In sport, WBA announced a Brucie Bonus as Steve Bruce returned to management. No man in football has suffered more unfair abuse, & I very much hope it works out well for him & the Baggies. He's managed 1,000 games at club level & twice got teams promoted to the Premier League, & yet armchair fans who have never even played the game think they have the right to mock him. What a strange world we live in.

In yesterday's 2nd AFCON Semi-Final, Egypt beat Cameroon. The match was played in temperatures of 85F, with high humidity, they played 90 minutes, then 30 minutes Extra Time & then penalties, & the players were all completely drained & dehydrated at the end. Now the losers - Cameroon - have to take part in the 3rd/4th place play off on Saturday at 4pm - less than 48 hours later. How can that ever be justified, & what even is the point of a 3rd/4th place play-off? (Except ££££'s). Football needs to get its act in order & stop being so greedy.

    7 at 7 Bounty Hunter (£938)

supercrazy took 7 @ 7 for the 2nd time this year, & in the same period has FT'd it five times. Not a player we hear much from, but has been here 13 years, played over 20,000 games & has always been steadily profitable.

Runner-up jawzindawz has been here even longer, & the same applies to Mr Bates in 7th place.

    £6,000 Hitman Bounty Hunter (£6,720)

whitters took the Main, his sixth Main Event win in the last 9 months. In the same period he's also made the Sunday Major final 7 times (2nd, 2nd, 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 4th & 4th).

So runner-up waller bumped into one here & 2nd is no disgrace at all. Waller is an oddity in poker - he's better than he thinks, much better, whereas more generally the "population" think they are better than they really are. His only mental game leak - if leak it be - is that he lacks confidence, & gets down on himself too easily. When he is playing he ought to have a screen open showing his Sharky graph for the last 2 years, it's a thing of beauty & would improve his self-belief. Great result Ryan, very pleased for you.

4th was zzgoose, who we have not seen much of lately but who had an excellent 2021, headlined by finishing 1st & 2nd in Predator Mains.

    £1,500 Sheriff Bounty Hunter (£1,850)

3rd was ozzie, with clarke996, who pulled off the Main-Sheriff double 24 hours earlier, in 6th.

    £1,000 Turbo Bounty Hunter (£1,320)

1267, runner-up in Quickdraw a few days earlier, took the Turbo.

2nd was Shrimpy28, who I saw described as "the bridesmaid". Now there's a mental image we'll all struggle to forget. Not been a bad week for him though, as he won Sunday's Mini Major.

Neilio, who won this the previous night, was 5th.
