It's the arrogance of their 'perceived entitlement' t gets me the most....apart from buying in to high roller Triton events, why would they possibly need £800k+ from books they didn't write?
Still, there hope for me yet....I used to go and give awards away at a range of events? £18k a pop? Nice 'work' if you can get it....unfortunately I don't think they've broken any laws as criminal proceedings could have been a possibility
As soon as we heard their Mgt/PR co was involved, you could work out they would milk it

Completely agree. The sad thing is that this could have been so different.
If only they had been honest and straightforward. If they had only said from the outset something like:-
Sir Tom loved this country, particularly the NHS. He also loved his family. He has raised £X million for the NHS already. Now he is releasing some books. Half will go to his Foundation. And half to his family.
Honest. Straightforward. Everything this couple were not
Important to remember that he raised a lot more money (probably 20-30 times) than these people took. I'm not defending them-but it should not tarnish his legacy.
And then there's the arrogance to suggest a family sauna room would be ok to build if they stuck sir Tom's name to the application......my memory is once they werenchallenged? All of a sudden there was community access to use the space?
So pleased the council weren't suckered into letting them keep it
