Morning.
Not a great night for MTT numbers, with both Main & Summit missing. Pfft.
Not a great day for Phil Mickelson either. It's been known on the Tour for years that he's a wrong 'un, but it's all come out on top now. As long as 10 years ago he was in bed with legendary gambler Billy Walters. Phil owed Billy $2 million for gambling debts, and paid part of that debt by getting involved in an insider trading deal that got Walters sent to prison. Phil has now lost his sponsor of 14 years, KPMG, who paid him a 7 figure sum annually, & lost the respect of everyone in the world of golf. What an utter mess this whole Saudi golf thing is. And Phil is now getting trashed everywhere by everyone, including, presumably, Greg Norman & the Saudis.
Nearer to home, & perhaps even more sad, the jockey genius Oisin Murphy has been banned for 14 months for a variety of offences, most of them stemming from poor judgement, perhaps caused by his well-known problems with alcohol. He's the best jockey I've seen since Lester Piggott, & seems to be decent sort when not affected by alcohol. Let's hope he straightens himself out, as he'll be much missed by almost all racing fans.

If at first you don't succeed.... renfr3606 has cashed 7 @ 7 multiple times and eventually got the win last night, well done bud.
In 4th was spearsy, who has been making FT's for fun recently, including 5th in last Friday's Avenger Main.
3265 seems to be running well too, 5th here after he was 2nd in Mega two nights earlier.

Yes, at last, Mr Bates wins the Main. He's endured the mother of all downswings with great stoicism, rarely complained, just kept his head down & battled on. Such a rare thing to see a poker player deal with a downswing so well. Nothing irritates more in poker than players bleating night after night that they are running bad, but he's the exception to the rule, & many could learn from him in how to lose with dignity. You are a top top bloke Matt, a credit to the site, & to poker. Was an extraordinary heads up too, Matt was down to about 1BB, & by his own admission got lucky & recovered to win. Good things happen to good people.
A very unusual double for DONDAPA, who was 6th in 7 @ 7 & also 6th in the Main. That's not something we often see.

faldo6929 had as near a perfect night as it's possible to have. Played 2 DYM's, (1 @ £3, 1 @ £5) & won them both, then the 419 runner Mini, which he also won, & that was it, 3 from 3. Bravo.

Gas77 won Mega twice in the space of a month last Autumn, & completed the hat-trick last night. Proper Mega specialist.
2nd was malone02 who posted on the Forum last night in slightly less than complimentary terms about the Sky Poker software.

The top two had an incredible dust-up here. jordz was playing his first & only MTT since winning the Major on Sunday, & looked to have it sewn up. But Crushy, who has returned to form in spectacular fashion was not to be denied & eventually got the win. He won $6,000 on Party 24 hours earlier, & also picked up £600 for winning his League in the Sky Poker Premiership Promo. February might yet turn out to be another winning month for him despite a shocking start. He can certainly lay claim to be one of the best MTTers on the site. Drinks all round on Crushy at SPT Brighton?
As you'd expect in Summit, it was a high class FT, & apart from the top two, it also featured Jscorgie, PRhack93, ValueJL, & in 6th was podraic, who I shall discuss in more detail a little later.

£1,500 Reload Rebuy B/Hunter (£1,530)
ChrisJN has played less than a dozen MTT's this year, all of them Reload, & booked his maiden win last night.
After finishing 6th in the £110 Summit, podraic was 5th in the £3.30 reload. That's like a racehorse who does equally well at 5 furlongs & 2 miles. He was not done yet, either.

£1,000 Turbo Bounty Hunter (£1,680)
Saboo747 seems to be showing much-improved form. With no significant history, he suddenly popped up in 5th in Sheriff late last week, then improved upon that last night by taking a competitive Turbo. Had to beat Groggs Heads Up to do it, too, not an easy feat.
HUGHMANS was 3rd, & karlluke, who seems to have transitioned to late night stuff recently, in 4th, ahead of big-shot whitters.

Another surprise result, as the unheralded LastDollar fended off Mr Arrogant & Crushy to take the podium top step.
AngelAngel, who has booked two MidEx's & a Turbo this year already, was 5th.

podraic capped a really good night by winning MidEx, after earlier running 6th in Summit & 5th in Reload. Seems to be on a roll at the moment with a whole string of FT's. Putting in a ton of volume too. One for the notebook.
MidnightMa has had a great 10 days, winning both Mega & MidEx, & running 4th here. Has been on the Forum this week too, which I was pleased to see.

This day last year
Melty won the Summit, Mr Arrogant had his third win in 4 nights, & Tiger Woods had that car crash which effectively ended his career.
