The Joke Was On The Bigots?

My family watched those 'racist' 1970s sitcoms like Love Thy Neighbour and It Ain't Half Hot Mum, writes IRAM RAMZAN, but unlike today's woke cultural commissars they could see the joke was on the BIGOTS

IRAM RAMZAN: TV shows such as Love Thy Neighbour, It Ain't Half Hot Mum and Till Death Do Us Part had racist characters, but like other 1970s shows the racist was the butt of the joke. My family and their friends liked some of these shows. Mum also liked Mind Your Language, a comedy about foreign students learning English, which played relentlessly for laughs on racial and national stereotypes.
