£1,000 Bounty Hunter @ 18.30 (£1,030)

Afternoon.

Before I start, I'm pleased (so far) with the new style thread though it's still a work in progress. Average Views have ticked up to over 200 per day, which is both a lot, & not a lot, depending how full your glass is.

I've not started the Sports Thread I promised yet, due to a) time issues & b) my appalling time management skills. Or unskills. Bear with me a little longer please.

What I have noticed is how many new posters have emerged on the threads to comment upon results when they have been name-checked. It really is quite striking how many people read these threads & rarely comment, though I have no problem there as it's really a "read only" thread for the most part. But it's always lovely to hear from "new" posters.

I'm seriously tempted to start a little Diary too. Just, you know, life stuff, poker stuff, all sorts. I live alone & I think a lot about all sorts. Amazing stuff, like my various poker trips to Russia, the memories prompted by the current ghastly Ukraine thing. And less amazing stuff, like when I got up this morning at 0630 & when I turned the lights on & a light bulb exploded, blowing all the fuses - which is of no interest to anyone anywhere, but made me more grumpy than usual. And some stuff went down yesterday which depressed me more than it really should. Just waffling about life in general I suppose, which is hardly going to make the Best Sellers list. And I'm not too keen on giving Team Negative Ninny the ammo to have fun behind my back at my expense when I bare my soul though, so I'll probably pass.

Anyway, for those who read regularly, thank you.

On we go then.

We start with a big big win for Ed46 who has a pleasantly brief alias. Short aliases are a bit like personal car registrations, they have a certain niche value. He tends to play 1 or 2 games each night, a mixture of £2 & £5 Tourneys & has a £4 ABI. So a very decent result indeed, well done Ed.

In 4th was thedazzman, who potters around in a variety of stuff & does very well in the MML. He seems a largely positive guy, glass always half full, & rarely disses others. Like & like. Has a lovely looking Sharky graph too.

5th was kawamattyz, an alias I dislike intensely, as I struggle to spell it properly. I much prefer, say, bert21 who was runner-up because I can (sometimes) type that without making a mistake. There's no pleasing me some days, is there? Perhaps I belong to Team Negative Ninny already.

    7 at 7 Bounty Hunter (£777)

My OCD is getting worse - or do I mean better? It really should not give me a tinge of excitement when the £7 plus £0.70 7 @ 7 makes exactly £777, but it does. Plus I'm a plane-spotting nerd, so much so that on my last trip to the USA I spent a day doing the Boeing Factory Tour up in Seattle & then spent £500 in the Boeing gift shop. For the non-nerds amongst you, the connection of course is the magnificent beast pictured below, and I'll be happy beyond words if some of you make the connection.

Nothing out of the ordinary here, though for those who enjoy these things, take a look at the Sharky graph of AlexaAJ for the last 12 months. It's a beaut. Went on to make it a double later when winning Mega. Not sure Alexa has ever graced the Forum with a post though. Maybe today's the day? It's the hope that keeps us going, the journey not the destination.

The rest of the FT have all been popping up with results recently too.

    £1,000 Rebuy B/Hunter (£1,295)

Goodness me, what a great day for the much-respected chrisdonkb. He began the day by winning Mid Ex, (~£330), then took this (££270), won a Summit seat (£110), 2nd in the Mini (£180), won his seat to Brighton (£220), & then to round it all off won MidEx again (£330). To most of us - certainly me - we can but dream of being that gifted at poker. I managed to spend my entire poker journey wondering how those select few seem to have cracked the game, & yet I strained every sinew for 25 years without even managing to reach the heights of even modest mediocrity. I enjoyed every **** minute of it though, so in some ways I was a big winner. That's my excuse anyway.

    £500 Bounty Hunter @ 1930 (£500)

Pleased to see PAPABURG notch a win as he seems to get more stick than enough. Mostly plays modest buy-in stuff, but did manage 3rd in the £55 Sheriff last month.

glencoelad was 3rd, & after he won last week's Elim Freeroll he put up a really lovely twitter post which made me blush & got a bunch of "Likes". Very kind of you George, thank you.

    £500 Bounty Hunter @ 2000 (£500)

DJ_Klassy scratches around in small-buy-in stuff & has managed to play just 8 MTT's this year without a single cash, but hit the (relative) jackpot last night.

gibbzy was 4th, then 8th in the Main, & later ran 6th in Reload so likely made a few quid on his session. He's closing in on 10,000 MTT's here. Plenty have played more, a testament to player loyalty on our site despite it's eccentric software, but even so it's a big number.

    £5,000 Gold Rush (£5,100)

jams29 took this & it's a result to preserve, as he has made three Main Event finals - rather curiously all of them in Gold Rush's. Twice 3rd, he gets the win at last for a best ever result.

Madman markycash was 3rd, so good to see him back & luckboxing results left right & centre.

Collabo led for a while before dropping away to finish 7th.

    £2,000 Mini Gold Rush (£2,000)

sharonm made a thread debut last week when 3rd in Mini Hitman, and now takes their first Featured MTT win. Anyone know if "sharon" is male or female? It's not a trick question, I don't know, but it does interest me how so often men use female aliases for purposes of deception. Can't think of a single example of the opposite though, a female using a male name - can you? Fair to say it's much harder to get away with in the Live arena, but it has been known for blokes to enter Ladies Events.

    £1,500 Reload Rebuy B/Hunter (£1,575)

HONEYBUSH won Reload for the second time in recent months.

Runner-up was WeeChicken, which does not sound at all appealing though it probably appears on the menu at Nandos judging by the taste of their stuff.

    £1,000 Turbo Bounty Hunter (£1,000)

Turbo performed awfully on Monday & whilst it still fell one runner shy last night it was a relief to see it do so much better.

Sir Swog took the honours, probably something of a relief & he's had a bit of a mini downswing this month. Was 5th in Quickdraw too.

I'd love to read a Tikay diary. It always intrigues me whenever you share a story of your life or experiences.

Also speaking of male and females names, I only read a headline just last week or so about a man in America who legally changed sex so he could claim his retirement some years early. Could have been a clickbait, mind you. I didn't read the details.

BOEING 777 by any chance @Tikay10 . Also is in "American" livery?

Correct on both counts, so now I'm happy. I'm easily pleased, eh?

You a bit of a 'plane buff Mark?
Yes mate, I was about 10 hours short of my PPL in 1997/98 when the money ran out.

I'd done 5 out of the 6 ground exams as well but just couldn't afford to complete.

    Biggest regret of my life.

For the record I was flying a Cessna 150 out of Hinton Airfield - Grass strip (Derby).

You are under the flight path for inbound flights to Manchester there, so you get to see a few.

Certainly do, especially up around kidsgrove, Mow Cop and Alsager. In fact stoke is quite a good vantage point for both Manchester and, depending on the configuration, East Midlands traffic.

Although when that's a viable prospect the South East of the City, Meir, Blythe Bridge and Tean are the best options. Man I'm such a geek.
