SUPERLEAGUE WEEK 7 PREVIEW

Sorry for the delay in posting, sometimes life just gets in the way of stuff.

WIGAN V HULL FC

Whilst Wigan have been steady rather than spectacular so far and Hull playing a slightly more expansive game than usual this could actually be quite close. Wigan were able to hold off an improving Cas last time out and Hull beat high flying Huddersfield.
Wigan by 8 - 10

HUDDERSFIELD V CATALAN

On paper a tough game to call but, rugby isn't played on paper. Huddersfield whilst playing well in most games have a soft underbelly which leaves then vulnerable and Catalans are just the team to take advantage. A lot depends on how well Catalan travel, but wins on the road at Leeds and Warrington suggest that isn't a huge problem this season.
Catalan by 6 - 9

CASTLEFORD V TOULOUSE

Perhaps the most important game for Castleford in years. Following a morale boosting cup win Tigers welcome Toulouse to West Yorkshire knowing that defeat is not an option. Toulouse on the other hand arrive with the boost of a first league win, and against Saint Helens at that, eager to repeat. This could go either way, an on form Cas should blast Toulouse out of there but if the errors and ill discipline return then all bets are off.
Castleford by 10 - 12

HULL KR V WARRINGTON

Hull KR at Cravan Park are usually a tough team to beat. Warrington anywhere are usually a tough team. KRs form is quite good actually whilst Oh dear, Warrington's is abysmal. Back to back home defeats to Wakefield in both league and cup along with an indifferent start has left Warrington's season in disarray and there are few better at hunting a weakened prey than the Robins. There just has to be a reaction from Warrington otherwise it could be season over already for many peoples fancies for the Grand Final.
Warrington by 8 - 10

LEEDS V SAINT HELENS

Oh dear, Leeds without a head coach, no home wins, out of the cup and joint bottom of Superleague, could it get any worse? Well yes actually you could then have to play Superleagues best team who are fresh off an embarrassing defeat at the leagues newest minnows. Saints rested 5 players in a misguided move and will be so fired up to put that defeat behind them that it could get very messy. Leeds are bereft of ideas and inept on the pitch and it would take a massive swing in form, luck and momentum to see anything other than a Saints win.
Saint Helens by 14 - 16

WAKEFIELD V SALFORD

Wakefield are finding some good form, back to back away wins at Warrington is impressive and there is a feel good vibe around Belle Vue (or whatever the bomb site they play at is known as now). Salford meanwhile after a great start are struggling, and I don't expect their fortunes to change here.
Wakefield by 12 - 14

Ok we are done I will post a review Sunday night.

Just want to check I have this right.

    Your Yorkshire club to win.
Almost every other Yorkshire club to lose :)

    I'm going to plump for Hull/Catalans/Toulouse/Hull KR/St Helens/Salford

Hey anytime I back Wakey for a win usually means an ELE. So yes only 2 Yorkies for the win. Although I will be very happy if Wakefield get a real trousering.
