William 'Kyle' Carruth opened fire on Chad Read after the two squared up against each other and wrestled over a gun in Lubbock, Texas, on November 5. The argument leading up to the shooting centered around a custody dispute over the children of Chad Read and his ex-wife Christina Read, who was dating Carruth. Following the tragic events, Chad Read's widow, Jennifer Read, released footage showing the moment her 54-year-husband was shot and killed by Carruth. On Thursday, Attorney General Ken Paxton said that a special grand jury had determined Carruth will not face charges because the argument unfolded on his property and he was acting in self-defense.

Hmm you shoot a man twice for trying to take away the gun you were threatening him with and claim self defence.

    Only in America.

Strange that shooting an unarmed man could be even considered to be self defence.
