Whilst searching for an old football shirt I came across this site and seeing all the old shirts brought back instant memories of games and players at certain times in my life. So I thought I'd share my most memorable football shirts and the reasons why. Really it's just an excuse for a personal indulgence of former glory that's long past.

Here's where it all started as a 5 year old picking Arsenal in the Cup Final because it had the 'swear word' **** in it and I thought I was getting away with swearing in front of mum & dad, Charlie George was an instant hero.

A few years later when I started playing football in Junior school this was my first shirt.

Moving on to 1979 and another Cup Final, watching it at my mates house I was loving it being 2-0 up against Man Utd,when they came back to 2-2 and the mate was giving it to me. Then up popped Alan Sunderland with the late winner, cue my rather wild celebrations around his house, lucky his parents weren't at home!

A few barren years followed but what a way to end the wait for a league title. I don't need to say any more than Michael Thomas Anfield 1989.

Then we get on to 'The Wenger Years' as the papers reported at the time 'Arsene Who?' But in his first full season 1998 we win the double.

Next stop 2002 and 'It's only Ray Parlour' scored against Chelsea in F.A. Cup final and a week later Wenger secured his second double.

Lastly we come to 2004 the only words needed are The Invincibles.

That's my history of Arsenal through the shirts that recall great memories. Have a look at the site for your memories.
