'He's an enigma, wrapped in a bush!' Neighbours of 'recluse' who lives in house ENTIRELY swallowed by overgrown greenery tell how they've had to REBUILD walls as a result - but insist he 'is polite, well-trimmed and well-dressed'

A severely overgrown garden has engulfed a house, causing neighbours to complain about the vine-ridden property. A boat, a van and a car lurk beneath the carpet of greenery that has overwhelmed the property in Ramsgate, east Kent. One neighbour has even complained they had to rebuild their wall due to incursion onto their property from the out-of-control vegetation, according to The Sun. Meanwhile, the local postie has boycotted the property, labelling mail destined for the bushy house 'undeliverable'.

How did he manage to park those two cars "bonnet to bonnet" with barely inches between them?

'Reclusive' pensioner whose house was engulfed by greenery spends TWO DAYS cutting back the overgrown shrubs despite having bad back - as neighbours tell how they 'feel sorry' for him because he's been ignored by the community
A vine-covered house in Ramsgate, Kent has been trimmed back, revealing an arsenal of vehicles
Pensioner Christopher Tull injured his back when he tackled the overgrown shrubs and trees on his property
The bushy house is once again accessible from the front door, before Mr Tull had to use the back door
Over 12 years, the house was overrun with vines, bushes and trees which have grown increasingly wild
One neighbour said they felt 'so sorry' for the man in his seventies, who is hurt and struggling to finish the job

In news that should surprise nobody, the Mail has a lot of facts wrong.

If a homeowner is neglecting a Property so as to cause harm to neighbours, then a range of options are available to the Local Authority. Examples are coming into the property to resolve the problem and charging the homeowner for those costs, or a Compulsory Purchase Order.

It is normal for the Council to give the homeowner a fixed period of time to resolve the problem , or explain to him what Enforcement action will ensue if he does not.

Why is it that people who bang on about "an Englishman's home is his castle" (which has never been true) always want to totally ignore the rights of the "castle" next door?

Hoarders don't like you touching their things.... Recluse don't like being disturbed ... people with health problems don't give a Monkey's & as for " Care in the Community " sad if you intervene you get told to mind your own business. His Neighbours very tolerant and sympathetic toward him but is that the hole story...... the fact and state of the property is where it is now would suggest nobody reported him to the Council given they must have felt impacted on the price too their own property if they wanted to sell.
