Went to see this at the Regent Theatre in Hanley yesterday 27/4/22. Wasn't sure how the story was going to pan out as much of Steinman's work was stories set apart and linking them may prove difficult.
It wasn't and it didn't. Yes there were a couple of times when perhaps the song didn't exactly fit the script but it was close enough. Whilst the songs featured were mainly from B.O.O.H and B.O.O.H 2 a few other Steinman hits, Making Love Out Of Nothing At All (Air Supply), It's All Coming Back To Me Now (Pandora's Box, way before Celine) the most notable, kept the whole show rocking at pace.
The audience was slightly older than you might expect but very receptive to what was a charged performance. There is a little bad language and some risque scenes but it never offends.
The cast were good, the lighting and stage set, moody and dramatic and I came away feeling I'd had my moneys worth although £15 for a bottle of Budvar and a double Aperini and lemonade was I feel slightly outrageous, so outrageous in fact we only had 2 rounds.
Don't know where the tour's still got to go. it leaves Stoke after the Saturday Evening performance but if you get a chance go see it then do it.
If you are looking for a fitting tribute to Jim Steinman and Meat Loaf this is probably the best you will get. Two hours of RnR at its finest.
Next Up Rocky Horror in June. I can't wait.

Yes, I'm a tight bas***d.
I have seen Green Day's American Idiot stage show a couple of times.
I thought both interpretations were excellent but I do love that album.
I must dig it out because I've not heard it for years.
