Money back as cash for 2nd,3rd,4th

I was wondering if this promo is a winning bet long term? I see it on quite a few races, especially at the weekends. Its always £10 max back. Like if you consistently put £10 on whatever the favourite is, any time the offer is available, would you be in profit over a given period, say a year. Its not always up to 4th place, sometimes 2 or 3 depending on amount of runners.

Same question goes for the football boosts. eg, Salah to have 1+ shot on target was 1/8 now 1/1 £10 max bet etc

They're GREAT Offers for sure....though rather than just back the Fav. on horse races, I usually look for one slightly bigger odds with a good chance of at least being placed.

Interesting to see how the Fav's would have got on though

Salah at EVENS for 1+ SOT is a 'NO-BRAINER' ....... though he did fail the other week !

Anytime you're getting EVENS about a 1/8 chance is printing money imho ;)

    GOOD LUCK

I'm defo interested in how Fav's get on over a Year :)

As a rule of thumb if any bookie puts a max bet of a tenner for population on anything then it's probably worth backing. But with this promo the value depends entirely on what you do with the free bet. If you whack that on a 100/1 requestabet then it's as good as worthless. Afaik skybet don't offer best odds guaranteed anymore, which makes your strategy of betting favourites pretty hard to profit from. They'll make the value of the tenner free bet back easily on the savings from dodging BOG. Apologies if they do still offer BOG.

I've not had skybet promos in years so dunno the t+c's. If you have to bet win only market then you're probably still better backing favs and spinning your free bet back at like evens. If you're allowed to do a tenner e/w and then you still get a tenner free bet then what Jez said about finding an e/w value horse will be far better than backing favourites because of the lack of BOG. If they do have BOG then just take your backing favs strat.

Regardless, they aren't really bothered if you find a way to make it +EV because 99% of people don't and if you do it's worth pennies and your account will get chinned.

Scratch all that, just realised I misread the question. Sorry just assumed this was paid as free bets because no one pays cash. If they just give you your money back as cash if the favourite comes fourth then I dare say that would be profitable long term. Also, what Jez said makes way more sense now that I’ve actually read the title. If you think something at a bigger price is going to place then you’re just freerolling the win at a much bigger price than freerolling the favourite.

I treat the horses bet like an e/w bet, as you say pick a wee bit better priced horses, the fitba bet is a no brainer, am well in profit for the both of them.
