    Its an extremely clever move.
    Although a huge gamble.
It would be difficult to describe the police as consistent.

Perhaps he is relying on the fact that Durham Police havent fined anyone for a first covid offence.
Puts a lot more pressure on Boris.
Tory Ministers have been consistently battering him for the last two weeks.
Yet all of a sudden they didnt want to comment this morning.
Lets hope he escapes a fine, and it backfires on Boris.
People that see any comparison between the two mens conduct are deluded.

    Carefully calculated use of words.
Thats why he is not saying he will quit if he is found to have broken the rules, only if he is fined.
He knows a precedent was set with Cummings not getting fined by Durham police.

These fixed penalties are a lot like a parking fine, or a penalty ticket on the trains.

Everyone has 2 options-pay the fine as a Civil Penalty, or argue the toss in Court-which raises the stakes, and increases the costs considerably. For all sides, including the police.

Unless this is going to be politically motivated, the police are unlikely to bring charges v Starmer. How are they going to look-the force that did not charge Dominic Cummings.

No such thing as "precedent" in these cases. Where it will get interesting is if the Police give Fixed Penalty Notices to people other than Starmer.

    Clearly.
Seems to have shut up the Tory Ministers though.
Also screwed Boris because he cant make a similar offer as he has already been fined once, and will be under much more pressure as a result, if he gets any more.

If he wasn't such an ineffective wet blanket Labour would have a great chance of getting in at the next election.

Who do you think should be Labour leader then?

    Totally disagree.

I think he is extremely effective.

The Tory Press will always portray any Labour leader (other than Blair) as mad, bad or dull. They only revert to dull if they can't show mad or bad.

He lacks charisma. Which seems to be a quality much loved by both the Press and the Electorate. It has always been something that is largely irrelevant to running the country. With the possible exception of May, purely due to the needs of that particular time.

At the next election, you are welcome to vote for charisma. With the accompanying lies, cheating, and stealing.

Or for a decent politician, who will genuinely try and do what is best for the country. Rather than himself.

I could vote Labour, with him in charge.

1st 2 episodes. First was good. Second wasn't. But I will persevere.

DI Ray was good, but not great.
Grace is really good-"Dot" as Potting was an inspired bit of casting.

I thought DI Ray was good.
I think Bosch will be good.

If Starmer has been found to have broken the lockdown rules (but doesn't get fined), would that be breaking the law at that time?

If it is law breaking then surely he must go?
