When did the prices go through the roof ?, I was looking at hiring a car for a few days, I was quoted £240 for a medium sized car, they're wanting £75/£80 a day, some of the other prices were crazy for a week.

    It's been like that since COVID.

    They never replaced cars in their fleet due to COVID causing a severe downturn in business. Now business has rebounded sharply & they are short of cars - so the prices have jumped alarmingly.

    I normally hire a car in Vegas for ~£250 per week, now it's around £125 per day.

    Can you borrow a car from friends or family if so you can insure yourself for about 20 or 30 quid a day , much cheaper

    Ah booked the train, surprisingly it was quite a bit cheaper.
