Lots of European golfers abandoned the European Tour. In fact, pretty much all of the best of them. Why? Because the US-backed PGA Tour offered them more money.
I am not saying that is right. I am not saying that is wrong. What I am saying is that it is no different to what the new Tour is doing to the PGA. Waving more money, so that sportsmen swap allegiance.
The key difference is that the PGA clearly believe that they have some sort of divine right to abuse a dominant market position. Via refusing to base rankings and Ryder Cup places on ability, but instead insist that it is only their golf tournaments that count.
I don't think the USPGA (or indeed Golf) has the moral high ground.

Also DP and the PGA have played events in Saudi so there's the hypocrisy.
