What DO the Palace fear revealing about 'Duchess Difficult'? Staff say they were 'traumatised' by Meghan but her defenders say she just has high standards. As the 'bullying' report is buried, RICHARD KAY analyses the behaviour that sparked the saga
RICHARD KAY: What do the so-called 'Duchess Difficult' and the Palace fear about the report which detailed allegations about Meghan's behaviour towards her staff before Megxit? Just months ago Buckingham Palace promised it would publish its report into how the historic allegations of bullying were handled by officials. But how hollow those pledges sound today. Instead of disclosing the steps taken to protect victims of the allegations, a curtain has been drawn over them. The report is buried, the changes to Palace protocols unexplained. As the Mail reported yesterday, the suspicion is that the promise of transparency has been sacrificed in order to placate the couple at the heart of the sorry saga - Harry and Meghan. Working for the royals has never been for the faint-hearted. The hours are long, the pay poor and the requirements of the job have put many a domestic relationship under pressure. At the same time, one person's bully is another person's demanding boss. There is, however, a world of difference between the kind of exacting standards Prince Charles is, for example, known to expect from his team and those rumours that began circulating from within the Sussex household of youthful aides being humiliated. It emerged that the duchess had faced bullying complaints from members of her staff. She was accused of driving two aides out of the household and of undermining the confidence of a third
DAN WOOTTON: I never doubted it would happen but, beware, Meghan is kicking off her delusional bid to end up in the White House early. That's why Buckingham Palace must release probe into her alleged bullying of staff
DAN WOOTTON: Meghan's Vogue interview with the famous feminist Gloria Steinem (right) protesting the Supreme Court overturning Roe vs Wade and declaring she'll march on Washington DC (top inset) was just the first of many political interventions that will become far more regular as she attempts to develop a woke base within the Democratic party. Meghan (left) is banking on the fact that in a decade the rest of the US would have caught up to the delusional virtue signalling woke politics of California. The woman has no idea about middle America or the rust belt or how to appeal to independents. But she has star power, which will at least get her a **** of a lot of publicity. The only certainty is that Meghan Markle, as the highest profile Democratic political activist in the world, is going to cause even more headaches for the British Royal Family - and she doesn't give a ****.
