The Japanese place does take tips

DoublemeDoubleme Member Posts: 2,150
So got back from The Japanese restaurant went a bit overboard getting everything cocktails and sushi and all the side dishes etc.
I discovered two things here firstly I really like eel it was the first time I had that but very tasty and apparently good for you too.

Also they do take tips noticed they now have a tip jar and when paying by card this time they had the option to leave a tip so I left a 10% tip. They did not have this last time I guess times are getting tougher and why turn down tips in hard times?

Noticed also that this a family owned business where they live in the building and the downstairs bit the restaurant whilst they live upstairs. Its nice to support a small family business when eating out rather then a large chain I guess that is just a personal preference thing.

it is very good food to be fair I think this time we will leave a review a five star review.

Not going to add to the Dad type jokes here :)

Hopefully you have some winnings from last night Main win left over after going for it seemingly. Small family business are a lot more appealing than chains - with your there.

I probably should not say but we spent £100 plus a £10 tip. For two of us which is a bit much for a meal for two but we did go flat out had multiple sides and starters before the main plus two cocktails each they advertised as Japanese cocktails so I guess they were they were very nice cocktails too.

Spending £900 on a meal would be extremely extravagant or been ripped off. Me and my girlfriend have watched every episode ever of hells kitchen so if we ever got a chance to eat there we would not sure how much that would cost. I dont think its a matter of been booking I think you need to be invited etc or something.

I had a dream where I was a contestant on hells kitchen and I finished third but instead of saying dont quit and you got great potential Gordon Ramsey just said ok well bye. no Nastiness or hair blower treatment no nice send of just a whatever bye. Realistically though if I was on hells Kitchen I would be the first eliminated unless they wanted to keep me around for good TV with all the mistakes and team been annoyed with me.

That's a fair whack - sounds worth it though. Worked as a KP as a teenager which was £35 - £50 pound for each meal, luckily got some leftovers and never had that quality of food since.

Was more into Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmare's especially the US version and the US H3ll's Kitchen/Aussie Masterchef a few years ago. Good compliment of one of the better episodes.

    Sweary words!
