7 @7 went to Chalky666, who I'm fairly sure won MML one week earlier this year, & unless my memory is deceiving me, never claimed his prize.
In 3rd was @Essexphil, who I notice selected Arsenal in the "Survivor" Forum Comp. Claims to be a Spurs fan, but I'm pretty sure he's really a Gooner. Very wise too.

Before we look at the Main, a word on numbers last night. With the blockbuster Man U v Liverpool on TV and a bookie-friendly result, I am going to guess that Sky Bet had an absolute bumper of a night. The other side of that coin though is that online poker traffic in the UK was well down across the board, & Sky Poker feel that effect worse than anyone, as they are almost entirely UK facing. And the numbers were indeed pretty dismal. MBN to be Flutter though, they've got all bases covered.
As to the Main, well it was HAYSIE who dived in & helped himself to some of that overlay. It was his 2nd Main event win inside 2 months. I don't have the time to do a detailed analysis, but I had a quick peruse on Sharky this morning & I note he has had 59 x 4 figure cashes since he's been with Sky Poker. Not bad for an octogenarian Welshman. It's such a shame he's so obdurate & argumentative.

More times than enough.
Let's take the above "overlay" figures. Not having a pop at you, Tony. You are just using industry-accepted data. Doesn't stop it being highly misleading.
When a poker site uses the term "overlay", it actually means how numbers impact upon expected profit. So it ignores the pluses, and only reports on the minuses.
Whereas punters tend to think of "overlay" in terms of actual profit to the punter, as opposed to merely smaller margins for the site. Consequently, the term "overlay" gives rise to misleading perceptions.
Let's use last night's figures for a comparison. Firstly, we can safely ignore the ones which did not have a reported "overlay"-these all made a 10% mark-up on first buy-ins (worth noting that Sky, unlike pretty much everyone else, does not make profit on rebuys/re-entries),
Now let's look at what the "overlay" actually was.
MTT Reported overlay Actual overlay
£5.50/1k £105.00 £15.50
£5.50/400 £15.00 (£23.50 profit)
£2.20/400 £60.00 £26.00
£33/4k £190 £15.50
£5.50/1250 £75 (£42.50 profit)
£22/1000 £20 (£78.00 profit)
£3.30/1500 £45 (£8.70 profit)
£33/1k £100 £19.00
£22/1k £160 £76.00
Total reported overlays £770 (£0.70 profit)
In short, not a great night for Sky Poker. But still one where it ended ahead on the "overlay" MTTs...
