Poker stars rake is between 3.5% and 4.5% depending on the level. 4-5% is pretty much standard on all sites. 7.5% of the pot leaving the table every hand is crazy. The rake is always rounded up so in reality it is more than 7.5% at Sky! Spots that are +EV are now massively -EV due to the huge rake. If you are breaking even you are basically crushing the game circa 10bb/100. To turn a decent profit you have to win at 15-20BB/100.
Is there any reasoning to the high rake at micros? Is it to push people to play 0.10/0.20 where the rake goes back to 5%.
The guys at these stakes are generally terrible, they lose there money fast enough without having 7.5% blasted from them every hand they win
. People who are aware of the rake adjust there play to be a lot tighter which makes the games a lot worse. It makes no sense. 7.5% rake is just to **** high!

Hello next caller you're through to what's my moan.
I think It would encourage people to stick around longer and play with a full stack. It would make micro cash games more enjoyable if tables never broke quickly.
and no doubt it would be more profitable for the good players and hopefully help them rise up to mid stakes quicker, instead of being stuck in an endless cycle that seems to only benefit the house.
I assume this is way most sites rake the micros less. To help the newbs and encourage them to keep playing. Lower rake is better for the ecosystem in general. Not this massive 7.5%+ every hand.
There must be a valid reason but we are not smart enough to understand this reason.
