When Gareth Southgate became England Boss he assured us that he would pick his squads on merit and form rather than reputation and that he would encourage the new breed to play without fear.
He was true to his word and for a while it was joyous although ultimately the team could not convert. However, after 2 semi finals and a final we see Gareth morphing into Roy Hodgson, picking players who can't get a game at their club and seemingly terrified to make a mistake.
I posted on here a couple of months ago that England at 3rd favourites 8/1 were way to short and that was a position to sell and wait for the profit.
Sadly, it does not bode well for the Big One in a few weeks.
