As per usual, the Fail provides Headlines that do not match up to their own article.
Home Office staff are not getting a Bonus to speed up the process-they are getting that Bonus if (and only if) they are still in post in 2 years' time. Simple fact is that the Civil Service in general, and the Home Office in particular, have been leaving in unheard-of numbers.
Why? Reasons are simple:-
1. This Government frequently seeks to blame the Civil Service for its own erroers 2. Pay has been spiralling downwards for years 3. In addition to the lack of Staff, there is a lack of resources-for example, the numbers of Immigration Tribunals and Judges has plummeted
PS. It is not "we" are failing to control our Borders. It is the Home Secretary's job.
She should try saying "I" am failing to control our Borders. In her resignation letter.

The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control issued an alert more than seven weeks ago urging governments to step up measures including vaccination against the infection.
