Really surprised to see that BMW are not in that list.
Yes, another surprise.
With both missing, I'm inclined to think that survey is flawed.
The data represents only cars that are outside their manufacturer warranties, meaning the minimum age for the sample is three years. The maximum age for cars included in the analysis is 10 years.
Data collated from 131,000 policies between 2021 and 2022 has placed Honda at the top of the charts with an incredible overall reliability score of 96.8/100.
'Honda's solid reputation for being ultra-dependable seems unshakeable, and as shown in previous news updates, the Honda Jazz was named the most reliable used car in this year's Reliability Index,' Warrantywise said.
This ranks every car on a combination of factors, including the cost to carry out repairs, how often they encounter issues and how many days it takes to get them fixed.
With an average repair cost in 2021 of only £424.31, Honda’s reputation for making reputable motors remains strong.
None of above on list as indicators do not work on these models.
On the other hand my personal experience of Toyotas backs up the survey, I've driven Toyota's for 30+ years and they have rarely cost me anything other than standard consumables. I also own an Audi, which has cost me a fair bit more to maintain, although it is older and higher mileage than the current Toyota.
Things might change next year though as I'm looking at changing to a manufacturer that has a (somewhat unwarranted I hope) reputation for Lots of Trouble Usually Serious!

A Lotus at YOUR age?
Behave.
EXCLUSIVE: We've listed the 20 biggest fallers in the last year, with large, diesel-powered SUVs dominating the rankings. While this will be particularly bad news for owners of these gas-guzzling 4X4s, for some in need of a large family car it can present a sound second-hand bargain.

Motorists who have splashed out big on a Porsche sports cars and SUVs, look away now. The premium German brand has just been named the most unreliable car maker in a report that analyses the volume of faults, cost of repairs and days off the road for all the major manufacturers. Extended warranty provider, Warrantywise, scored Porsche a meagre 35.1 out of 100 in its Reliability Index, which is based on data for over 131,000 cars being driven in Britain. And it's not the only expensive brand to make the list of the bottom 10 performers when it comes to reliability...

EXCLUSIVE: Used car prices remain at record-high levels, even despite the impact of the cost-of-living crisis. A combination of short supply of new models and encyclopedia-long dealer order books are pushing car buyers to the second-hand market - and there are some vehicles that are in such high demand that their average price is now over a third higher than it was this time last year. This is Money has exclusively teamed up with cap hpi, which specialises in monitoring car values, to reveal the top 20 second-hand motors that are worth far more now than they were just 12 months ago. Is your car among the biggest risers?

NEW EXCLUSIVE: DVLA figures show that 5,979 Fiestas were reported stolen by owners last year compared to 3,909 in 2021. It means that a criminal made off with one every 88 minutes on average. The Fiesta's ranking as the most-stolen car in Britain doesn't come as a huge surprise given that around 1.5 million are currently registered on the road. However, experts have previously warned that they could be at greater risk after Ford announced last year that it will stop making them, which would see the cost of Fiesta parts rise. See which other cars made the ten most-stolen models by volume.
