'I'm strong, very hopeful': Brazil legend Pele posts firsts message since being moved to 'end of life care' as a result of his battle with colon cancer, but the football icon assures well-wishers he is 'calm and positive'
Pele has given an update on his health, claiming that he is 'strong' and 'very hopeful', after reports emerged earlier on Saturday that he had been receiving 'end-of life palliative care' in hospital. Reports in Brazil said the 82-year-old, who went into hospital last week, was receiving measures to relieve pain in an 'end-of life palliative care' ward. They also said he was 'no longer responding to chemotherapy' in his fight against bowel cancer. But, in a hugely positive announcement, Pele shared on Instagram that he was doing OK and thanked everyone who had sent their well wishes.
