Southern California whale watchers were in for a treat Monday when they witnessed the birth of a gray whale calf just feet away from their boat. The spectacle happened just south of Los Angeles in Dana Point, California. Cellphone and drone video captured the birth and the first moments after the newborn calf was shown off to the group by the proud new mom. One woman who was on the boat that witnessed the birth said: 'It's once-in-a-lifetime type stuff.'
