PICTURED: US teaching assistant who was brutally beaten by 6'6" teen student is a 'humble' mother-of-two working two jobs - and her son attends school where she was knocked out and pummeled
Joan Naydich, 57, of Palm Coast, was knocked unconscious by an unidentified teen student on Tuesday at Matanzas High School. An unidentified special needs student attacked her after she took away his Nintendo Switch and said he was 'going to kill her.' He is currently in custody of the Department of Juvenile Justice and has been charged with aggravated battery, which faces up to five years. Naydich has worked in the school district since 2004 and has worked at Matanzas since 2021 as a teaching aide. 'Joan is humble, never asks for help and needs our love/support during this difficult time,' friend and fellow parent, Jessica White Leon, wrote on GoFundMe.
