Health and safety... last! Shocking picture gallery exposes reckless workers who have cut corners - including a VERY dodgy 'fixed' lamppost

This emergency fire exit was reportedly zip-tied shut after thieves kept using it - but it can no longer be called an emergency exit

This person seems to be setting themselves up for a fall - by sawing a plank of wood that they are standing on

Exit through the danger zone: This sign encourages people to exit the building through a possible cancer hazard area

It's important to use the correct jack when you are lifting up a lorry, or you can just lay down a pile of bricks and hope for the best

Loose material should be contained in a solid structure with four sides, but this can side out at any moment

If you are going to carry a pane of glass through busy streets, this is surely the way to do it - on the back of a moped

Hilarious photos from entertainment site Aubtu show workmen and women paying little regard to health and safety. Photos show lorry drivers piling their trucks with materials not properly strapped down. They also show people climbing high buildings with no safety equipment and those perched on treacherously-position ladders. While the photos may be funny, they also serve as a guide of what not to do when trying to get work done. Pictured: A man on a roof, a lamppost held up by tape and a man sawing between his feet

It was quite bad really, ah was an apprentice at the time and ah was up on a roof on a farm repairing a skylight, we split the ladder ( it was a right heavy wooden ladder ) one half to reach the gutter and the other half was hooked over the roof , ah was only about nine and half stone at the time so ah went up to the top and ah stepped off the ladder and sat on the slates and started the repair, ma mate who was in his fifties and about 17 stone started to come up the ladder with the glass, it gave way and hit me and the 2 of us fell of the roof.
Ah hurt ma leg a wee bit ah looked over to ma mate, blood everywhere he had slit both his arteries, ah took of ma tee-shirt and wrapped it round one of his wrists and the auld farmers wife brought towels oot and we tried to stop the bleeding.
we were in the middle of nowhere, it took the medics about an hour to come, they rushed him of to hospital, straight into theatre, managed to save his live.
He never got over it though and died a wee while after it.
