the next one is probly not your cup o tea, but a couple years ago i asked my nephew who he was listening too and he gave me a bunch of names, i told him this guy was the best of his bunch.....then dropped him some other names haha.
Always loved watching Jools Holland. Simply because of the breadth of music. Plus the fact that you find great artists that you've missed.
Like this. Christone "Kingfish" Ingram.
He's only 24. Already played at the White House (at 15), supported the Stones, won a Grammy. Idolised as the future of the Blues. And one of the greatest guitarists ever. On the 2nd of these, he is 17-yet making a Prince song simply awesome. From about 3:50 this is tremendous. And he effortlessly covers Hendrix, too-check out his version of Hey Joe...
@Essexphil nice one! I’m running a little late this morning as per normal, look forward to giving those a listen once I’m home from work! Jools used to be my fav tv, does his show still run? I never really watch telly anymore, just the footy n boxing
3 from great songwriters. Diamond - Steinman - Cohen
Enjoy, I know the Neil Diamond medley is long but it's a great film based on a great book and the lyrics will at some point resonate with everybody. Hope love, rejection, redemption and finally acceptance. When you play it close you eyes, listen and just let emotion take over. YOU HAVE TO HIT THE LINK FOR THIS ONE,
Steinmans is another by Fire Inc performed song from the film "Streets of Fire" and better than "Nowhere Fast" in my humble opinion.
Cohens famous "Hallelujah" sees Bon Jovi give it just 5 of the 70 odd verses that Leonard penned, but it's done with heart, feeling and not a little faith.
