A minor ticket dispute that will easily be reversed upon appeal isnt news. It's the Mail putting forward their usual angle about snowflakes, using the parent saying their child is now scared to go on public transport as the bait.

Mother claims daughter is "traumatised" by the whole experience, and "scared" to use public transport.
Which does rather beg the question as to why the Mother thinks the best solution is to give her daughter nationwide coverage in a mass-market newspaper, and ensure her picture is there for all to see....
